Westchester Community College issues-

Does anybody know if ADR is a decent free throw shooter (>60%). If so, he could be a good replacement at the end of games to take over for CO cause he will have all 5 fouls and hopefully can hit free throws.

Don't know %, but he has a nice stroke. At several CTK games last year he did hit big FTs down the stretch. As frustrated as I am with his game shape, not just his weight, he does have skills. Passes well, reacts well to double teams, has a decent shot and obviously can clog the middle. A good team, not as hard pressed as SJU, would red shirt him & get him in great shape.

I guess the A's in Quantum Mechanics and Applied Astrophysics were dead giveaways, as were the grades written in crayon.

WHO at St. JOHN'S reviewed the transcript? Why would an assistant coach at another school spot this and not our Ivy League assistant? Who provided the transcript to the coaches? Who verified the transcript with the program office at WCC?
The laziness that is apparent by this staff extends to the amateur compliance staff. Assuming the 3.5 and 21 credit quote is true, the AD needs to fire the compliance staff.

I went for an accounting degree some go to study law the guys Lavin recruits go for a career in basketball. Did Michael Jordan ever get his degree from UNC? Let's please stop the hypocrisy already

I surmise that the asst coach's school didn't need a power forward as badly as we did. This just reeks of desperation.

I also have an accounting degree from SJU as well as an education.> As for law school went elsewhere. Playing basketball and getting an education are not mutally exclusive .

I have the utmost respect for two of our all time best players - Berry and Mullin - who after they achieved wealth went back to school to earn their degrees. When you speak to either today, both appear to be college educated adults who communicate easily. Either should be role models role college athletes, not for what they achieved on the courts, but in the classroom years after.

@NYPost_Brazille: Gio McLean has been ruled ineligible to play for moment at Quinnipiac. question: Did programs just get duped or hoping to pull fast one?
 
How many D1 basketball players are there from WCC that still play? Only the four mentioned have been ruled ineligible so far and I feel like there might be a few more.
 
What is current status for Thomas? Is he still at SJU, are they looking to get him eligible for next year?
 
I find it hard to believe Thomas never looked at his grades...unless he thought the 3.5 GPA was on a scale of eight.
 
It reminds me of the Rice situation w Samson et al. All 3 students scored As In all their courses. Talk about red flags. At least the schools could have made it realistic giving out Bs and Cs.LOL
