Welcome Mikey Dixon

I know some of us are mad that we added another skinny guard, but I really like this pick up. That said, it would be nice to read an intro bio to a big man sometime soon.

Plus I can separate college from the NBA. I'm willing to call a 6'7" 230 guy a big man.

There's got to be someone with good hands and that size who wants to leave a school for one with three crafty guards who can drive and dish.

According to the media guide, that's Marvin Clark size :)

And I suspect if we don't bring in a big body, the staff will play him there, perhaps a lot if he plays well. I think he'll be the ultimate team guy and glue guy, and play wherever we need him, but it's probably not fair to do it to him.

I like the idea of Kante so hope that happens, but one more guy in addition to him who looks like he's seen the inside of a weight room would go a long way for this team.

Agree on all points including that Mikey Dixon is a quality addition.

Think one key point on the additional big (which I obviously agree with) is that as is we have at least one lineup with legitimate size. Even though neither Clark nor Ahmed's most natural position is 4, they are both big 3s so playing both of them at the same time in the frontcourt along with Owens, Simon, and one of Ponds/Lovett is a big lineup. At a minimum that's not one that's going to get pushed around, and might even inflict some damage inside. We didn't really have that option this year.

Issues are (1) it's not ideal to have one of Lovett/Ponds out for extended stretches to go big, and (2) depth such that there isn't only one core lineup that is both big and balanced. Think the additional big solves both of those issues.

Propose we all pitch in and get skinny Mike a gift card to IHOP. Gimme at least 20 lbs. over the next 18 months. This ain't the MAAC anymore.
