Welcome Ian Steere Today I Sense

Is he allowed to practice with the team this year? That would be great as it would give Keita a more experienced big to go against every day.

was there any reason for his wanting to leave NCState? It would seem
after one game it would be hard to judge playing time potential.

Would imagine there was otherwise he wouldn't have left. ;) :) According to him he just felt we were a better fit for him but who knows if there were other reasons too.

Everything was great for the 1st 2 minutes, but things went downhill for the last 2...:)

Been off-line since Thursday afternoon and just saw this thread. Great news!
Highlight videos can be deceiving but this kid looks like he can shoot a little from outside which is clearly the kind of big Coach likes to have; but he is also big and strong and should give us a second low post presence next year. Looking at some of the other programs that were interested, suspect he is at least a very solid three star talent. Meanwhile, hoping we get to see a bit of our three freshman Tuesday evening.

Yes, he'll be able to practice when he gets on campus in the next month or so. He should provide immediate value in practice to our PFs and Centers: Clark, Simon, and Keita.

The kid a physical monster. 260 lbs! Just imagine the difference fighting in the paint with a 200 lb Roberts and a 260 animal like that. They'll be ready for the big boys that's for sure.

“They’re basically Transfer U,”...
It's about time. Transfers should have been the backbone of this program for 15 years.
He must've watched the game against VCU on ESPN, cuz that's exactly what Fran called them a few minutes into the broadcast. He also said something to the effect that with transfers, the car is already paid for. Subsequently he said that is what some people say, not me. :-D

Does his dad have 4 years of eligibility remaining?

Not sure about that, but he sure looks like he could be our fitness coach.

Steer is how they pronounce dad's name in competitions.

I just read football now allows a player in 4 games and still eligible for a redshirt. Is there no similar rule in basketball?

I’m pretty sure that’s what he was after. If I were to bet, he’ll be ready to go in September. No reason ncaa shouldn’t clear him for that. He hadn’t played more than 4 minutes in fall semester. I think kid is gonna be real good for us too. Athletic, big body, can shoot too. Physical kid.
