We be dancin'!!!!!!!!

If we win next game , yes

We are in
UM NO. Min 3 games left have to win 1 of those

I disagree. We are in and now it's just seeding. Worse case scenario would be a play in game.
We will win at least 1, but if you think we can now lose to Marquette, Nova and in BET and get in going in with 3 game losing streak you are out of your mind

Lunardi would disagree. We are in!! Lock it up! Just a question of seeding. I still want to win the Big East tourney for these seniors.

What Lunardi means is if they stopped the season right now and picked the teams, we are in. I don't dispute that at all. But there is still 3 games left min and we need one of them.

No he doesn't, because we were in his bracket for over a week now (maybe 2). When he said if we beat Georgetown and Xavier we'd be in, he already had us in the bracket along with nearly all other bracketolgists.

Those are projections. I am not arguing against us but if you think we can lose to Marquette, then Nova, then the BET game and get in coming off three losses to end the season.........

Again, this is not a topic I enjoy, but if we lose to Marquette, you will see some places have us on the wrong side of the bubble.
Beat Marquette and I believe it closes all doors of uncertainty.

SNY is a joke. The last time I watched was when they were disparaging Jeter for some petty thing at the end of last year's baseball season. It was so ridiculous and agenda-driven that I vowed I would never spend a minute on that channel again.

I stumble upon SNY while checking for weather and traffic on 61. It's surprising that they are still around.

Aren't they the home TV station for Pukon hoops?

I do think we can lose the next 3 and make it. Right now our RPI is 36. A loss at Nova won't hurt our RPI at all, we may actually gain a couple spots. In the BET we will likely be playing a mid 20s RPI team on a neutral court, which won't hurt us much. The Marquette loss would hurt, though it is on the road.

Plus, RPI forecast says under that scenario our rpi would be around 48.

This doesn't mean I think we will definitely be in if we lose the next 3, but I think it's a better than 75% chance.

Also, if ESPN's RPI, which counts the NIT games as neutral site games, were used we would 100% be a lock right now. Unfortunately I don't think it is.

I would prefer that we do not anger or tempt the basketball gods, and instead with one or two more games to build our resume.

I wonder if the NCAA counts the BET as home games for us too for RPI purposes. Seems unfair. Tickets are distributed evenly among the schools. Our fans were routinely outnumbered in the past. The only advantage we have is that we're more used to the backgrounds.

That would be insanely unfair and would likely be the difference of finishing above or below a 50 RPI (if we lose the next 3). I don't know for certain either way, but I don't think it'd count as a home game.

EDIT: I just ran RPI Forecast with the BET loss vs. Providence. At home we'd be a 51 RPI on a neutral court we'd be 48. Again though I doubt it'd be a home game but I also didn't think the NIT games were home.

Heard somewhere that they're wallowing in mediocrity in something called the American Athletic Conference.

I think we should just beat Marquette. While all Big East road games are tough, we are the better team and the players need to realize this is a must win to avoid any surprises.

+1

Go to Marquette and beat a team that has struggled the whole year. And while we're at it, go to Villanova and play with confidence. Almost beat them on the road last year and played a great 35 minutes against them this year. Not saying it'll be easy, but SJU has the talent to do it.

I will be sitting on expedia March 15th. I just hope its not the West bracket.

Incredibly we are just 14 days away from selection Sunday.

At least the west bracket has two attractive venues (Seattle and Portland) that have direct flights. If you have to change planes some of the closer destinations will take longer to get to, and you can get jammed up by delays.

For your benefit a re-post. Fares will be much higher with a 3 or 4 day advance purchase:

• March 19 & 21 - Second & Third Rounds
o Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena, Jacksonville, FL March 18-22 flight lowest $247 RT
o KFC Yum! Center, Louisville, KY March 18-22 flight lowest $327 RT
o Consol Energy Center, Pittsburgh, PA March 18-22 flight lowest $284 RT
o Moda Center, Portland, OR March 18-22 flight lowest $647 RT (redeye home)
• March 20 & 22 - Second & Third Rounds
o Time Warner Cable Arena, Charlotte, NC March 19-22 flight lowest $202 RT
o Nationwide Arena, Columbus, OH March 19-22 flight lowest $439 RT
o
o CenturyLink Center Omaha, Omaha, NE March 19-22 flight lowest $400 RT
o
o KeyArena, Seattle, WA March 19-22 flight lowest $542 RT
o

I don't like Seattle, but if we end up in Portland I'll try to get up there if there are game tix to be had.
