Wagner Game

and while Pointer is still my favorite player on this team he did that 3 more times giving up the 3. He needs to move into his player another step and half on the perimeter.
 
IMHO = in my "humble" opinion.
but what do I know amidst so many smart guys.

with the big lead I'd like to see Hooper get a solid 5 minutes. If he blows that then bench him otherwise let him get a feel for the game.

Glad to see some solid improvement on D. Pointer still playing too far off his man IMHO

Nice crowd given the early tipoff...although our fans always sit on their hands...

Games was a tale of two halves

1st Half -- Wow, this is what this team can be...Team 1st...Fully committed to play defense

2nd Half -- Oh, this is what this team can be...Focus and Intensity waned...allowed Wagner to hang around

Let's hope the 1st half becomes more of the norm...

Looked the same on TV. 0 for 10 from 3. Against a so so team. No one should be allowed to shoot 3s unless it's desperation time. Harrison figured it out early. After missing his first shot (a 3), he faked from 3 and got to the lane where he belongs. Maybe Jordan had first regular season home game jitters. Got the goose egg. Harrison keeping his game and temper under control. I will take the win considering Jordan was awful tonight. That shouldn't happen again.

Missed part of the first half - 6 PM start - why?????
Crowd looked larger than announced and was pretty loud and into the game
I was not impressed with a lot of what I saw on the court
Offensively, most possessions were one on one plays - very little semblance of a cohesive half court offense
Defensively, I lost count of how many times a Wagner player beat one of our guys off the dribble
We won because we have better athletes who can mask their lack of fundamental play on both sides of the floor
The game was a lot closer than the final score would indicate - single digit lead for much of the second half
Sir Dom made some key plays when we really needed them
Jordan was in foul trouble in the first half and did not play a lot in the second half
If we don't play better against Bucknell on Tuesday, it may very well be a long (and very unpleasant) night
By the way, I stood next to Adonis De La Rosa outside while we were both picking up our tickets
He is HUGE!!!!

Not sure how much of 1st half you missed but they looked very good for most of 1st half.

Game was never in jeopardy. 2nd half was a function of overconfidence and some really long 3s
 
unfortunately I said at the end of the last season that this team would be no better this season than they were last season..We have no outside shooting at all..We have not one single player that will sniff an NBA lineup..I hope I am wrong but I haven't heard a single STJ player talked about as a draft pick outside of here..This is gonna be one long season..Glad Harrison stuck around, cause without him we are 0-2

I missed about half of the first half
When Wagner cut the lead to 6 in the second half, I did become a bit concerned about the outcome
I am just not pleased with how fundamentally flawed we were on offense and defense
You can beat lesser teams with sheer athleticism
But, we have already seen that that formula doesn't work against a good team like Wisconsin
By the way, it was nice to see "Flagboy" back in action
However, this time, it was a kid in real good shape running around
Call me a sadist - I preferred to see a rotund out of shape guy huff and puff his way around the cheerleaders - better entertainment value
 
A win is a win and this game did get close for a couple of minutes but only because of Karr's determination to go one on one. Jordan was a zero zero and was glued to the bench in the second half. Sanchez rebounded well but was effective getting open. Obekpa blocks 4 shots and was ineffective in every other aspect of the game. No Harrison no win tonight as was the case last year when he did not play.
My hope is that this was Jordan's worst game he will play.
Why have a three guard offense when only one guy will do any scoring?
If Lavin puts Hoop in for only a 30 second quickie again I will bitch slap him next time he is near me.
Without our dunks and layups our shooting % would be around 20%.

Finally, if any of you want to watch some really smart kids who "get it" in practice tune in to the Columbia-Mich St. game. Lions up 44-38 with 11:29 to go.

on the broadcast they said Jordan's mom has been sick. Hope she is ok. Could totally understand if thats been weighing on him

I never thought Columbia would win (although, it's a tie ballgame with 7 minutes remaining), but they are giving good effort.
