Virginia Game

Negative's with todays game- usual dumb mistakes, Lavin's in game coaching(another time out after made basket, etc.), Garrett and Obekpa taking outside shots, every key player in foul trouble, Positives-hustle, Sampson, Obekpa's blocked shots, Greene playing well.
 
TX, coming back and winning this game would give me great pleasure. Between the inconsistent reffing and these lousy announcers, I need something good to happen.
 
I almost want SJU to lose so this board won't be filled with the constant whining. It is an absolute joke.

I said almost by the way, because this place will be filled with whining nitwits no matter what the season or thread.

Our team is not exactly performing to a level that indicates any positives going on in this game. It's the same old story, this team has major flaws in playing the game of Basketball and it hasn't improved much at all

The frustration come from fans who see the lack of a ongoing improvement in team play.. If you closed your eyes you might think Roberts was still Coaching. It's that bad!

What's disturbing to fans who see the same futility in these players as we did for the last 10 years..

And, other than Sampson, who is not NBA ready, these players cannot shoot the basketball.. And, these guys are close to being 3rd year players, given all their playing time, just cannot play the game at a high level. IF a .500 team is all you want, you've got it...

It's great to be optimistic and hope but, there were many here that thought Roberts was making progress in his 6 years..
Lavin deserves 1 more year and a NCAA bid should be the benchmark. IF not, he should be gone..
 
And now these announcers are spouting the ESPN Party Line about how great the ACC will be next year. Oh well. Wait until next year!
 
UVA's frosh killed us. Anderson,18 and Barnett. But we are the young team right? UVA well coached, excellent ball movement etc. In the end though another blowout loss to another mediocre team.
 
There needs to be some metamorphosis to this team in the off season. I have not witnessed anything in this game nor the previous 10 that suggest we will be really good next year. We know what D Lo is and Sanchez is supposed to be good, but we still suffer at the guard position. It is hard to win without very good guard play. Trust me, I'm a guard. Hope Lavin and company will get these guys ready and bring in some chemistry guys.

And, for that do we need to pay Lavin mega Repole Bucks? You are right about these players abilities or, lack of. And, Lavin hasn't exactly impressed as any thing other than a great PR guy.
 
Having highly ranked recruits isn't always the end-all, be-all.

Especially if you have no clue how to coach them.

The bleeding has stopped, mercifully. Unbelievable season. The team showed tons more heart last year.
