@Villanova, Sat., Jan. 6, 1p, F0X

Nova has been going 7-8 deep for several years and won two championships that way. They usually don't foul much. Moore is much better than a "decent guard". He would have been in NBA now if not for his injury.

That said, agree we are rounding into form and can win this one if we play as well as we did vs UCONN. Keep Nova off the free throw line as much as possible will be key. Play smart and focused to win this one.
Nova had some well established characteristics for years under Wright: they didn’t foul, they hit FT’s at very high clips, they didn’t block a lot of shots, they defended the 3 well, and shot the 3 very well. They also rarely had anyone over 6’8-6’9 and generally produced a lot of assists.

This year they are #2 in the country in FT %, they don’t block shots and they don’t foul…but they don’t shoot well from three or produce assists. Nobody in their top 6 is under 6’4.

Kill them on the offensive glass and don’t let Soriano leave the paint. They will try to draw him out with Dixon. We can live with Dixon hitting 3-4 treys. We can’t live with Soriano chasing him around the top of the key.

you going to be a gracious guest (golf claps) - or a Johnnies fan?
Its a tough one for me because I am so gracious of my friends' family for offering me this ticket to go to the game. It is really nice of them and they are good people.

I... however.. also despise Villanova basketball. and will not be able to sit there quietly if we pull this one out haha

We literally had Apollo Creeds trainer coaching the team the last 4 seasons. What an embarrassment that TV caught it vs. Xavier. His first year with Dunn and Rutherford his best!
Anyway, happy Slick is here. I remember when they beat Nova down in Philly in Lavs first year. Good crowd went down. I remember nova fans leaving this one big lady said bye Nova Nation in my section . Nova fan turned around said bye Rosie O’Donell 🤣😂. Brutal burn. Great weekend Picked up some scuts at McFaddens they went to Temple and stayed at the Embassy Suites. Hit $350 on a machine in AC at the Trop then blew it on a big booty Latina at Stillettos!
Duke was great, much better than Mickey.
Mickey had Rocky chase chickens and fight righty.

Fought righty to protect his eye! Marvelous Marvin fought lefty and righty. It’s funny the more shots Rock took to the head he became profound and much wisdom! 🤣😂 Drago was shooting roids and he was pulling Paulie’s fat ass on a sled after he ate a gabagool vinegar peppers sandwich go figure Hollywood!

Mike Anderon's staff didn't do any advanced scouting! Anderson hired his friends and relatives to collect a paycheck. So glad though they kept Van Macon! Pitino has 2 assistant's that were head coaches at the college level on this staff!

(Or we’re there video sessions that Posh simply didn’t go to?)

We match up as well with Nova as we do with anyone. We’ve done well against bigger teams that aren’t exceedingly quick.

They might be the best FT shooting team in the country and we might be the best offensive rebounding team in the country. Whichever one of those extremes dominates will likely decide this game.

Keep Joel at home in the lane…more zone principles than man for everyone. Get a hand in Dixon’s face. Make sure Alleyne has his running shoes on.
Armstrong is as quick as any guard in the BE imo. Gotta keep him out if the paint.

I think the Dixon vs Soriano matchup will decide it. Dixon’s gotten the better of him in the past. I think guys like Bamba, Hart, Longino and Burton are the exact type of wings you’d want to have if you are guarding RJ, I don’t see that as matchup advantage for us in this game.

Agree. This will be a very tough game. We need to split with Nova. Winning down there would be huge for sure. I guess Moore a question mark for us if he’s not playing tonight.

Nova has been up and down so far this year, but when they lock in defensively with their athletic and long wings, it feels like an NBA team is guarding you. It can be frightening. I watched all of their Atlantis games and came out feeling like they were a top 5 team in the country. Then they somehow turn around and come last in the Big 5 Philly competition.

Luckily, they have numerous guys on the team who are liable to go cold on any given night. TJ Bamba looks the part of an NBA wing, and then he shoots and you're like "Oh, thats why hes still in college"

Honestly, just gotta do what we did @Uconn. Hang around and then win the game late. We didn't accomplish the last part of that in Storrs, but the blueprint is still there

If healthy and right, I still have a hard time taking any starting 5 in the BE over theirs.
