Villanova Game

This was a tough one to watch with so many missed shots at the rim down the stretch and key missed free throws.
But from what I've seen, at full strength, we are now the best team in the big east. I say bring it on at the Garden. We can definitely win the Bid East Tournament.

if we went 2-1 over last three, and won 1 game in big east tournament, do we get in?

It defends on where that one loss came from.

Frankly, I wouldn't wanna chance a 10-8 conference record. But it's possible, we could still get in with your scenario.

I think 11-7 will get us in, as that would squarely place us in 3rd place. Personally, I still think we're gonna make a run in the conference tournament. Meaning, I feel we're gonna be playing in the championship game. Not saying, we're gonna win it. But I think we'll be there.

we have no right to the claim of "best team in the big east." please, stop.

I said something similar on a recent post.

Seriously time for Dom to look at other schools. There is no room on this team for a kid that watches all of his teammates hit the floor diving for loose balls. Is he kidding the way he walked to the ball under two minutes that Uchefu got off like two bounces? He is he not on the floor for that? Everyone was busting their asses today except him. Sickening. His effort and his IQ killed this team today. Four point swing on his moronic technical foul and we lose by three.

I listed to the first 39:30 in the car and had the pleasure of watching the last 0:30 on tv. It sounds like we blew a lot of chances at the end of the 2nd half. Awful decision making by Harrison. A blown opportunity. It won't keep us out of the tournament but didn't help us either. Need 3-4 more wins now.

Jordan had the kind of game you expect from a talented freshman, with moments of good and key moments of
frustration. He has to be disappointed in his play especially near the end. He forced a drive into bigger players and
got stuffed; he missed a wide open three; he had the lane violation and he had the same "in too deep" issues after penetrating earlier in the game. We missed Sanchez for relief of Sampson who never got truly energized and for all of that and more...
the game turned mostly on a lucky three that banked off the backboard.

Maybe you should challenge him to a game of one on one? I'm sure you would dominate him..

Jon Rothstein just tweeted that st. john's may have to win the big east tournament to get in.....i respect rothstein, he knows his stuff......i find that to be a very big reach tho.

Im so sick of him. And not only did he not get the loose ball. He blatantly fouled him! The lowest IQ ive ever seen.

Dom played significant minutes at the 4 today. THREE rebounds.

It's good to be good, and it's better to be lucky. Ryan A.'s bank shot 3 from straightaway was lucky.

Villanova controlling the ball for over a minute with the lead was good.

Greene's travel was horrible, but no way should Harrison deliver the ball to Greene in that possession, surrounded by trees. Also, Harrison's break to the basket when they needed a three wasn't exactly heady.

Give Lavin credit for loading up on 3 point shooters on the final possession, and then switching to rebounders with Harrison on the line.

Can't explain why Harrison gave a foul with 1.5 seconds remaining, down two and we needed a steal. Essentially ended the game

Yesterday, we had a little debate as to who should have the ball at the end, Jordan or Harrison. Today was an example why Jordan should have the ball.

I can't believe that stupid banked 3 pointer went in, and how the announcers were applauding him all game like he's the second coming of Michael Jordan. Disgusting.

Hard fought game by the team. That bank 3pt shot by Arcidiacono was the killer in my opinion. Questionable walk call on Greene. I thought Uchefu walked on the other end when Villanova found him down low and we fouled him. Sanchez has been rebounding well lately and we missed him today especially at the when Villanova got 2 and 3 possessions at the end of the game by offensive rebounding.
I still think 22 wins is the magic number to guarantee us a spot in the NCAA Tourney. We have to either win our last three and one game in the Big East Tourney and win 2 or our last three and win 2 games in the big East Tourney. Either can be accomplished the way the team has been playing. I also think that this team makes a run in the Big East Tournament.
Payback against Xavier and then payback against DePaul. The team will be very motivated in those two games. The Marquette game is a crapshoot, hopefully we have their number.

He is so wrong, especially after we take the next three.

Too bad he isn't on the committee.

If we finish at 11-7 (which, well be good enough for 3rd place), and win--at least--a game (which, I expect to do) in the Big East Tournament, then we're going dancing.

Frankly I can claim whatever I like. Free country, remember? Anyway, I'm not claiming anything. I am saying that from what I see on the court, at full strength, we are the best team in the league right now and I believe we will see it in the tourney.

We split with Creighton and we just played Villanova to the last second without Sanchez and having Obekpa half lame much of the game. Who else is better than us? Look for the Johnnies in the BET Championship game!
