On the subject of taking the vaccine or not, with our ages and risk factors, my wife and I will definitely get it when our turn comes. If either of us were to get this thing, it might be lights out.
Apparently, the cocktail the President and Rudy G. got when they contracted covid, is really good especially at shortening it if you get it into you during the first ten days. Word of advice, if you get covid ask them for that cocktail of drugs right away, because it is considered experimental and you have to ask for it and sign a waiver, and some insurance might not cover it.
Last, we should be so proud of an American, Belgian, Moroccan scientist Moncef Slaoui who was appointed as head of Operation Warp Speed last Spring, after having retired as head of GlaxoSmithKline vaccine division for 30 years. (His wife Kristen from Suffolk County is best friends with my good friend.) Moncef predicted the vaccine would be here before year's end. He mentioned that Moderna and others were working on similar vaccines that could be adapted and that the normal 4-5 year wait could be avoided, and he was right about that.
Moncef took the job for the country not a ploitical guy, he saw it as his patriotic duty. Moved his family from outside Philly to DC and got paid $1 a year; working pretty much 24/7 for months now. He was overseeing all of the different companies trying their best to develop the vaccine and he said the government resources and cooperation among the companies and his Op Warp Speed team, was nothing short of outstanding. He had a lot of good things to say about the military folks on the committee. What our country did in getting these highly effective vaccines to market in breathtaking speed is an enormous accomplshment. Kudos to Moncef and all involved.
Moncef has "Tony" on his speed dial, they are close friends, talk all the time and have known each other for over three decades. His praise for Fauci is off the charts and like just about every other medical professional involved in this crisis, they implore us all to take the vaccine when we can.
