Early on, Drummond was going to reclassify for 2012, so Conn went ahead and filled its scholarship roster. Then he decided to come this year, and they gave him one of the other guys' (already awarded) scholarships. (Bush move by Conn in the first place.) So recently Drummond said "the kid can have my scholarship back." Nice move. And hence, be's become a walk-on.
Of course, he's a Conn resident, so the tuition is probably reasonable, and it's also a strong indication that he'll be one-and-done next year, expecting to be earning NBA money, and paying back any loans he needs to take out for this year's tuition/room/board. So, no skin off his nose, as they say. I could be off on some details, but that's the big picture.
UCONN on probation and Drummond is a walk on...the NCAA at its best...what a joke organization!!!
I read that he is a "walk on" but was not aware of the details...beyond the Calhoun suspension I have forgotten the remaining penalties...did they have scholarships cut? Is Drumond's status as a "walk on" skirting that penalty?
