@Tulane, Fri. Dec. 2, 8pm, ESPNEWS/970AM

And special shout at to Monte and ccnobz because of those 2 I doubled down on the game so tomorrow is going to be a pigout day for me with Nawlins food

Glad you had a nice time, and me you and Monte cleaned up! :)

replay of game last night thanks to Tom in Salem for giving me the link

Major camera time for JSJ,RSR,and mjmaherjr

Look at the 2nd half at the 18:20to 18:10 mark roughly when ponds hits 3 in front of us with me standing and calling it on camera

Same thing at the 12:20 to 12:10 minute mark roughly with Ponds again and then even funnier I think at the 8:20 to 8:10 mark when Alibaba throws up that long 3 and it goes in and I have my hands on my head.

Redstormrising 2nd row of the first section on right behind bench on the stair aisle all in red shirt and hat, I'm behind him with jeans and grey sju tee shirt and JSJ right behind me.

Mussini was a pleasant surprise last night. He can hit when open. I think the key to last night was not playing 1 on 1 Bb and looking for the open man. If Mussini gets open looks he will hit and that will force opposing defenses to have to guard him freeing up the others. Without the ball movement teams will just double team Lovett and we saw what happened against an awfull Del St. team.

BTW I really like their arena. That's how we should have carnesseca other then that ugly green. It holds 4k yet seemed spacious sold beer had easy entry points and exit points good bathrooms and well defined concession stands across the arena plus they had good air conditioning and well lit

How would you know, you've been to Tulane more than you have visited CA.

It was a great show last night on the court and behind the bench. I noticed that you came out flat in the first half, but during the second half you guys were going strong. I credit the players for getting you off your feet.

is there any chance that Mussini can develop into the type of player Archidiacomo (sp??) was for Nova???

No, Arc is a natural point guard, stronger & was much better prepared for physicality of college game IMO. Also more adept at flopping. :)

we were flat because Redstormrising and I were still in a cab. We pick up a cab at canal and bourbon and tell him to take us to tulane for the basketball game. The freaking knuckled takes us to the Pelicans arena and there is either NBA game or concert happening and we get stuck in crazy traffic and then he tells us he doesn't know where Tulane is. It was surreal. How do you not know how to get to Tulane basketball arena ? A 10 minute cab ride turned into a 45 minute to hour debacle. Thats why you see us sitting down in those seats at the 11 minute mark in 1st half when JSJ texted me where he was sitting when we moved from behind the basket to sit with JSJ

I agree, but I think most of see him as our most improved player. We kill him for his D, but the kid is shooting the lights out. He's not just a spot up outside shooter. I hope this kid stays the four years. He's going to win us some games down the stretch.

Tulane looked really young and inexperienced to me.

They looked just like St John's did one year ago - young and inexperienced
Fwiw, the announcer last night said that we have the 2nd youngest team in D-1

No - they are different types of players
Mussini does one thing really well - he's a very good stand still shooter from outside
But he can't create his own shot or shoot consistently well off the dribble
Arch was a very good point guard - As we saw last year, Mussini is not

2nd youngest team in college basketball, made up of mostly 3 star recruits, and people are calling for the coach's head early in what is essentially his first real year. SMFH!!!!!!

The good is we won by20 points
and we won on the road. The negative is we will not shoot 3 s consistently as well , we gave up 75 points to a poor or inexperienced team and our 2 returning bigs , other than Simas free throw shooting , certainly have not shown improvement. That is not a long term winning formula. In order for us to come close to 15 wins this season Sima and Yakwe have to improve on last years rebounding and scoring numbers. Since we don't have superstars at this point in time we need a better team effort from a group of the 8 whose name is not Marcus, Shamorie or Bashir.

If SJU continues to play at the pace they kept up vs Tulane allowing 75 puts is not that bad.

Curious where it's confirmed our team is the 2nd youngest

This is all I can find...

http://www.cbssports.com/collegebasketball/roster-analysis?&_1:col_1=4

Not youngest, 3rd least experienced. Pretty sure it's Kenpom but that data is by subscription. It's been mentioned on several broadcasts though and since it was on the telly it must be true.

Yeah they did reference Kenpom as the source on some game I saw, I only caught the last 3 minutes of last night's game because my wife does not know how to use a DVR.

I'm so confused. Its a bunch of 3 star recruits? I thought STJ had 3 top ranked players, a JC player of the year and a JC stud and 3 under recruited future NBA players from Europe? Hyperbole not mine.

Post mortem on the game, this win dropped STJ's RPI by 27 spots. Only in Queens! Now 253, was 227.
