Travesty!!!!!

The call was wrong, the replay review a cover-up, the Big East response ridiculous, but our staff's passive reaction is the real mystery. I can't believe any other head coach would have had Mullin's reaction. If we end up one of the last schools out of the NCAA tourney, we can look back to this game.
Mullins post game reaction was "I know they don't fine college coaches but I'll still keep my thoughts to myself."

Boeheim would have freaked. How would you feel if Mullin got T'd up by one?
I think Mike Cragg should officially protest the game to the BEC and call for it to be resumed in MSG on Feb 23rd.
While we’re at it, Sandro, very obviously traveled before he made the game winning assist.
Yup

While a protest will likely fall on deaf ears in the Big East Offices , it should be done on principle alone . The Video tape clearly shows Figgy directed the ball to a teammate , Heron , while totally airborne . If the Ref blew his whistle , inadvertently or otherwise , and missed the call , isn t that what replays are for ? The ball directed to Heron by Figueroa was a legal play any other explanation is total BS and should be rectified by the League . It raises a new issue , why have Replays if the Refs are still making the call at Courtside ? The same Refs who made the wrong call to begin with . I believe the NFL and NHL have all Replays reviewed immediately at League headquarters by a Official or Officials unimpeded by Crowd Noise or the Game Refs . The amount of time they concocted whatever BS to justify a clearly wrong call was unbelievable . It should not have been left in the hands of the Refs at Courtside to determine the game outcome .

The ending to last night's game was outrageous! Why have replay if you don't correct obvious errors that incorrectly determine game outcomes. I have emailed Ackerman and Jackson and encourage others to do so.

Please, after a call like that, Mullin had a long way from his reaction to getting a T.

I doubt it’ll matter, but let’s all inundate the BEC Executive Offices with our justifiable criticism that this travesty must not stand.
It will—but we should demand that it should not, for the integrity of the game and the Conference.
Unfortunately, from where Mullin was, and without the benefit of seeing the replay, I don’t think he knew at the time that the ref had blown the call so badly.
Point taken, but I would think the players would have explained what had taken place.

Please, we were up 1 point as Beast pointed out, it would have been ludicrous for Mullin to begin ranting and raving at that point and receive a technical. What you are suggesting would not have made sense.

Protesting the game won't do anything, but do it anyways.

This insanity needs to be remembered, especially if we are on the bubble Selection Sunday.

I would remove all of the big east banners and paint on the court for the rest of the season. Tell them they are having them redone and it takes a while to get it done correctly

I agree that he shouldn't have lost it, but I do wonder if he could've protested the game immediately? Walk off the court? Or would that automatically result in a T?

Maybe Mullin didn't have a good view, but EVERYBODY else did upon the extended replay. As I've said, time for him to get a Twitter (half joking here)... or at least somebody on his staff needs to be tuned into this stuff.

I never stated I wanted Mullin to rant and rave, but your team is getting robbed. I've watched sju for a long time and that was the worst call I can recall. It was worse than the Louie Orr/Reggie Carter charge call and even worse than the foul and subsequent T on Singleton, in the Duke NCAA game. Those refs felt no pressure from our side in arriving at their decision.

I hate to tell you but we'll get past the call someday but as a fan you will never forget it. Just the way it goes. Incompetence is accepted as just "part of the game".
I am also a fan of the Packers in football. I still have a screen saver of the dreaded replacement official call on the "Fail Mary". https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2012_Packers–Seahawks_officiating_controversy

Or how about this year Clay Matthews cushioning the clean sack of Kirk Cousins on 4th down. Game Over? No, 15 yard penalty prolonging the game resulting in tie game.
St. John's got screw jobbed by incompetence, but nothing can be done now. Sucks.

Thanks...sent the following to Ackerman and Jackson

Folks

Not going to waste time rehashing what you have probably heard from numerous St. John’s fans and perhaps the athletic administration itself.

I am sure you have grown immune to messages from biased fans reaching out in response to some perceived wrongdoing.

What exacerbates last night’s indisputable, outcome impacting referee error (part of the game) is the obvious coverup. To claim that the clock had anything to do with that whistle is an insult. For the league office to parrot those claims is indefensible.

Either say nothing or own it with the latter being the obvious preference. You expect your member institutions to operate with integrity. The league office should be no different.

I love the Big East and root for all of our teams.

Just so you don’t think it is all about the negative, I think you guys have done a remarkable job rebuilding the league and the fact that we have barely lost a beat after losing many of our marquee programs is a tribute to your leadership.

Stepping up at times like this is part of it.

I emailed Mike Cragg. I know it won't matter, but why the heck not?!?
An official protest coming from the Admin would at least send out the word, the BEC must not have 'favored brands'.
I like it a lot "Section 3". Very good job!
Thanks Doc. Forwarded to Mike Cragg so he recognizes the passion that our long suffering fan base feels

Mike

Season ticket holder since 1974. While I am sure there has been a point sometime in the past when I have been just as outraged by the outcome of a SJ game, it’s probably been quite a while.

Forwarding you the message I have sent to the Big East leadership simply to illustrate the passion that exists for the program and our desire to get it back where it belongs.

I know you share this passion and am looking forward to see the changes you are planning.

There are many others who have sent similar messages and perhaps you have heard from some of them as well.

You’ve obviously been through the wars and know how best to handle. Not naive enough to think that anything will be done but hoping that the BE will at least admit the egregious error and show a bit of integrity. Doesn’t effect the result but sure as heck feels better.

Best wishes for a happy new year.

See you at the Marquette game confident that our guys will respond with the heart of a lion.

Take care Mike.

Super note Section3. I will send my own. Not looking for a change in result as we all know that is not going to happen. What I hope to see is an improvement in quality of referees and perhaps all these emails can help get us there.
