Travesty!!!!!

I haven't seen anything like that since the 1972 Olympic Gold Medal game, when corrupt referees allowed a replay three times until the Russians got it right and won. No one's free throw chokes or bad decisions...or inability of referees to differentiate pathetic Seton Hall flops from real defensive positioning.... makes any difference here. Because St. John's very clearly won this game. There are no "DO-OVERS" in basketball. Simply put...Seton Hall threw the ball away and St' John's recovered it...GAME OVER!!!! That's the basketball reality for every single participant, whether they be a player, a referee, a coach, or a fan. But at Seton Hall last night a different perception and travesty occurred. Since every single camera angle clearly displayed LJ Figeuroa getting his hand on the
in-bounds pass...and then clearly and legally making a great play to keep the ball in bounds (every camera showed his foot was in-bounds when he jumped)...and Heron recovering the ball…..well the game should have been over. It is impossible to understand how referees then awarded the ball to Seton Hall. They reviewed the play ad nauseum. There was some talk about the clock having not started, but that would have nothing to do with it. Seton Hall's people control the clock and well, the ball was officially inbounded to a Seton Hall player and he passed it. THERE ARE NO DO-OVERS!!!! You would also note that the refs awarded Seton Hall the ball 15-20 feet up the side-line...in a spot where they could make a play much easier, than the deep corner where they initially inbounded the ball....WHY? If Figgy's play didn't count, then why advance the ball to enhance their opportunity? You couldn't do all that without
clearly and deliberately wanting St' John's to lose, which of course would bring up the integrity of the entire Big East! I haven't seen a basketball outrage of that nature in a long long time, We should all be complaining to the league!
It's also hard to understand Chris Mullin's passivity over the entire issue. The defense looked confused after the call. Not sure he had one, but if so, should he not have called a time out to question the new positioning of the in-bounds play and insure the defense was on the same page?

Why was the ball placement moved ?

How old were these refs and where were they when JFK got assasinated

I think because when the whistle was blown that is where the ball was and they did take time off the clock???

The defense looked somewhat confused on the last play. If he had one, would a time out have been in order to sort out exactly what had happened and to make sure the players were on the same page?

Well maybe? But have you ever even once seen a call like that on any level of basketball? Does
a referee have any excuse for blowing a play dead without justifiable cause? The clock can always be adjusted.

Terrible call. He is not in charge of watching the clock. He is on the ball and clearly missed the call.He should have had the guts to indicate he blew the whistle inadvertently and awarded the ball too us. No Guts looked for a way out of a mess.

The job done by the three stooges in stripes last night made Angel Hernandez's performance in the ALDS this year look downright competent.

Also it is forgotten because he hit the shot but Heron was called for a foul on the play. How could any ref who already knows he cost the game call that foul against the same team? Even if he missed we most likely would have lost the game. The whole sequence is hard to believe.

That was a foul, though. That's obvious to anyone.

Heron is very fortunate that the shot went in anyway, otherwise, he would have been wearing full goat horns for that one.

It’s no clock issue. They had a chance to correct the call and call it an inadevertent whistle. The idiots decided to try to cover it up by calling a fugazi clock issue. The entire second half reffing and that last call was a hose-job plain and simple.

While we’re at it, Sandro, very obviously traveled before he made the game winning assist.

The call was wrong, the replay review a cover-up, the Big East response ridiculous, but our staff's passive reaction is the real mystery. I can't believe any other head coach would have had Mullin's reaction. If we end up one of the last schools out of the NCAA tourney, we can look back to this game.

Unfortunately, from where Mullin was, and without the benefit of seeing the replay, I don’t think he knew at the time that the ref had blown the call so badly.
Thanks for providing.
Just sent my email.
Yes thanks. As did I.
I asked the game be declared 'incomplete' and resume in MSG at the SH / SJU Game in MSG, with St. John's getting the ball back , ahead 74 - 73, with ~3.9 seconds on the clock. The Hall would still have a 'shot' at justifiable heroics.
Here's hoping the Conference is inundated.

Mullins post game reaction was "I know they don't fine college coaches but I'll still keep my thoughts to myself."

Boeheim would have freaked. How would you feel if Mullin got T'd up by one?
