Thornton's uncle goes off on Duke, @MEdwardsBball

"I was in the office at Duke when they BEGGED my #Nephew to Skip his Senior year..give up a piece of his childhood for a great opportunity"

@DerryckThornton gave up being McDonalds All American, Jordan Brand All American, Elite 24, Adidas Nations, Steph Curry Camp etc FOR WHAT?!

"Funny thing about Duke is when I would see the Assistant coaches on the Recruiting Trail, they were not even friendly or cool..."

"I don't know Coach K personally and this isn't an all out attack on his personal Character, I'm just saying #TheyLied"

This is the classic debate... is it better to be a small fish in a big pond or a big fish in a small pond? Getting the chance to play for Duke or Kentucky or Kansas is a tremendous honor, but you do run the risk of getting lost or being recruited over. That's just the way it is and I'm surprised more HS players aren't aware of that. Personally (and this is just me), if I was a great recruit, I'd never sign on at one of those schools. I'd want to go somewhere where I knew I'd get playing time.

Syracuse transfer Kaleb Joseph has committed to Creighton.

Wow. Amazing get for Creighton. Joseph always had talent but was in Boheims dog house and never got out. He was asked to basically run the offense as a true freshmen and didn't do it up to Jim B's standards and never saw the floor again

The liberalization of transfer eligibility by the NCAA has benefitted athletes who are willing to drop down in competition to get more playing time but also hurts the player on the team these players are transferring to who felt their opportunity to play was finally coming.
Iona must have had two backcourt players who served as backups this past year thinking they would start next season. Iona now brings in two guards from higher profile leagues with immediate eligibility who will no doubt be getting the major minutes next season leaving this past season's backups right back where they were this past season. Do they transfer or stay hoping they get a chance next year to start or should they realize Cluess will obviously try to recruit two different players next year with immediate eligibility.
College transferring has really became a game of musical chairs. I think the number of transfers is around twenty per cent and rising.

Another really good pick-up for the conference. I must say, Creighton and Xavier were absolutely great additions to the Big East.

If Creighton can improve his outside shooting they will have a very good player.

And so was Butler.

I mentioned in the Moore thread a while back that Cal would be a good spot. Not sure what Illinois is thinking.

Both big men. Cooley thinking Bentil is gone? Maybe reading too much into it perhaps, because PC needs more big men with or without Ben next year

Read where Cooley said he has to recruit in event Bentil goes, so sounds like it is a 50/50 proposition.

Good to hear we are getting a visitor this weekend. Beginning to get anxious with other BE schools getting transfers already signed or already having scheduled visits

Holt is from Monroe County, so I can see him wanting to come back east.
