Transfers

Not getting ANY high quality transfers in this day and age, especially with 5th year eligibility, is a serious deficiency of Lavin's.

He gets a F IN THIS CLASS.
Other than Branch Lavin has not played the transfer game well.

Neither has anyone since Coach C. if we are talking strictly about transfer's from four year schools. Last four year school transfer of impact has been Branch (Lavin), Middleton (Mahoney), Brust and Rowan (Carnesseca).

We've done well with some Juco's like Hardy, Brownlee and Hatten.

Don't forget Bootsy

Damn, how did I forget him. Thanks. He came mid year under Fraschilla but didn't play until the following year.

@GoodmanESPN: Anthony Collins and Dre Clayton are transferring out of South Florida.

Collins - fifth year graduate PG who seems like he has been there for ten years. :)

I'd take Collins. Always felt he was head and shoulders better than his teammates.

What's going on with my main man OA? Hopefully this is because he has a list of top flight recruits lined up to take their place.

Collins was good during his two years in BE, crafty.

You know how this is going to play out. Norm Roberts II. Some guys are just meant to be assistants. 9-23 this year in a weak conference. Brutal.

I'd take Collins. I'm getting kind of sick of all these transfers going elsewhere. Oregon signs half of them it seems and they are in the tournament every year. Sign a kid like Collins, a big like the kid from Charlotte and a wing and we could actually be good next year.

Amazing how well Oregon, ISU & LaSalle play the transfer game,.

Someone has to help out on this . Looie brought in from Kan. St. a player first name Curtis, who was a big time NYCHS ball player. Went with his coach to Kan. St. who left very quickly.
He scored in the high teens for K St but had a bad leg injury and lost his explosiveness before SJU. I think the name was something like Redfield and I think it was the late seventies.

Curtis Redding...came to SJ with great rep and did nothing...

I recall during one game at Alumni Hall..Carnesecca took him out of the game...he was so ticked, he actually stood and cheered for the other team...

Well at least we've had an occasional gem/productive players -
two that come to mind Ron Rowan, Matt Brust
Others?

Oh I see Rowan & Brust were previously mentioned :)

Should have got his brother Otis instead. :)
