Transfers

Wish some of the negative posters would TRANSFER to some other board.
Let me enjoy the positives of building this program into a powerhouse!

This is a perfectly appropriate time to be negative.

It really seems like the only breaks we get are bad:
Jordans comming back yeah, ih btw he forgot to take the finals last semester
Obekpa is coming back yeah ,no he doesn't want to work that hard.
Lovett commits, yeah oh btw he is only a partial qualifier ( now possibly leaving)
Sima's hand, William's shoulder, Ellisons foot.
I am hopeful for the future I just hope I am around to enjoy it!

Glass half full time. If we get beat down by gtown not many of us will notice because everyone will be staring at the bench to see if lovett's there. Personally I'll be riveted watching the scorers table to see at what point does Mullin sit on it. The over under mark is 35 minutes of regulation

I understand the negativity but -
Jordan and Obepka staying would not have helped the PROGRAM one bit; they maybe would have helped us win a couple more games this season but so what? The drama would not have been worth it and it would have started the Mullin era off on the wrong foot IMO. This is a team to root for, win or lose; I'll take watching Yakwe against Marquette anytime. Lavin did a great job of recruiting what was available his first year but there are frequently problems associated with players available that late and we certainly experienced that. Along those lines, Williams and Ellison were known to have physical problems, the primary reason they were still there so late and LoVett was always seen as a wild card, the reason he was signed somewhere. He seemed to have settled down and did his work to become eligible and therefore was more than a good gamble to go after. Why he would transfer I have no idea but if he does, it sucks, but he does. Sima getting hurt was a bad break but part of the game. People can say "woe is me" all they want but anyone who didn't think this would take years was just kidding themselves IMO. Me, I remain totally and completely optimistic about where this program is going. Our staff is too talented, too committed, too hard working for there to be anything but success in the future.

The way things are going, he may be sitting under it.

Paultz......you now have multiple shoes dropping in your avi. Please tell us your sensing just one! :S

Agree completely Logen. If he does leave-and I sure hope he doesn't-this is nothing more than a bump in the road. Worst case scenario Ponds and Mussini share the PG duties next year. My guess is that the staff will have no problem grabbing another top 100 PG either this year or next. And putting aside all the overhyping of recruits that goes on around here, since the kid has never played a minute of college ball, we have no way of knowing if he's the next Kenny Anderson or he next Elijah Ingram.

1 is in rumor mill. Now we just have to see if there is something to worry about.

To break the LoVett post mania, Zag's reported;

Texas announces that sophomore G/F Jordan Barnett will transfer.

Does anyone know if Lovett has been at practice this week?
This one is a total head scratcher. Let's see:
1. Guaranteed to start at the point from day one.
2. Up to 4 excellent shooters around him in Mussini, Freud, Ahmed and Ponds to help pad his assist stats.
3. Two Hall of Famers on the bench to learn from.
4. A coach that wants to play an exciting brand of basketball.
5. Not a word about issues at practice or in the classroom while at SJU.
6. No talk of family issues back home.
I keep looking at the calendar, and it's not April 1st. When do we catch a break?

SInce there is all this rumor and speculation.... noticed on Ron Mvouika's twitter page the guys went bowling

Who's missing ?

I like Ron. He would be a nice piece on a real good team

Back to the LoVett saga:

@Marcus_LoVett: "I'm just gonna sip my tea while I watch this happen..."

Interpretations?
Obviously he reads redmen.com and likes Paultzman's tea leaves
