Transfers

Kids desiring to transfer & play next year, second semester, have until Friday I believe to declare their intent. Should be interesting throughout the country.

Do you basically lose a year when you transfer mid year? Kids are much better toughening it out and transfer during the summer and sitting out a year while retaining that year of eligibility.

Yes, basically you are correct Gman. Look at Jamal Branch. Left Texas Tech halfway through his freshman year and sat the rest of the year after transferring here. Sat half of his sophomore year ( to complete the year sit out after transferring) before being eligible the second half. Played full seasons his Junior and Senior Year. So he played two full years and two half years.

Matt Brust is an example of someone who took a different tack. He left UNC after the first half of his freshman year but sat out a year and a half. He played three full years.

transferring mid year is dumb. I guess the one good thing about it is it gives the school losing the player the rest of the year trying to replace him.

That's me trying to be glass half full and stay positive

Are you concerned about anyone(s) specific?

SJU tradition of "other shoe dropping" is well documented.
yep. by now I feel like one of those barefoot refugees

Trying to read through the tea leaves here. Is there a specific suggestion that somebody may transfer or are you just pessimistic bc of our run of bad luck over past nearly decade-and-a-half?

both. In honor of that I just went to teavana

Who from this team leaving would be that detrimental to the future? Granted I say that believing it definitely isn't Sima (he seems very happy here). I also think Mussini is very happy and Yakwe is developing very nicely. After that I don't know who could leave that would cause an issue in the future for us with all the talent we have coming in (don't forget Williams and Owens as well). Am I missing something?
