Transfers

This seems odd? Wonder where he is going? Hopefully Stanford or Harvard.

I think he want max PT at PG for pro aspirations.

Sad to see him go, but it's a very smart move IMO. Arch is the PG with McDonald's AA, Brunson, coming in this year. He'd be wise to target a school where he can play point and/or get 30 mpg.

I hope some other 5th year senior sees the opportunity SJU has at point as well.

Yep, even though he is much better than Archidiacono, he will never get more playing time than him. The love affair with Archidiacono is puzzling.

He is much better than the Big East Player of the Year ?

Not sure about that, but do you really think he was BE POY? Better argument for Dom.

Or even Hilliard.

He wasn't "much better" than Arch. He was out of control and inconsistent. He was their best athlete, but was a complete no-show against NC State when Nova was completely outmatched in that area. Arch didn't exactly have a good statistical game either, but Ennis was 2-12, 0-6 from three, 3 assist and 2 turnovers. I don't really get the Arch hate...he's a fantastic player that could clearly have better stats if he wasn't about the team first, second, and third.

They'll have a better chance in the tournament next season with a more athletic group, led by his replacement, Brunson.

Ennis gets to go to a lesser program to try and run the show and prove to scouts he can play PG. Good move for him.

@CESPN1: UVA freshman guard B.J. Stith is transferring from the program.

@JonRothstein: GW's Kethan Savage will transfer, per the school. One year of eligibility remaining. HUGE A 10 news.

He's a sophmore, he should have two years of eligibility left.

@jeffborzello: Updated transfer list with another 50-60 names -- it's now in the 350 range:http://t.co/3uhnjViDvi @GoodmanESPN

It's amazing how many kids are looking to transfer
I guess it's a reflection of this generation
If you don't get immediate gratification, look somewhere else
Kids should learn that the grass isn't always greener on the other side
You picked your original school for a reason
Push yourself and try harder to make it work there

My daughter went to Penn State (At my urging. Not an athlete). She was miserable and transferred back home to St. John' after one semester. A $600 cell phone bill (bfore unlimited plans became the norm) helped me to see that it was a good idea. If someone is unhappy where they are, move on to where you will be happy. No different for an athlete than it is for any other kid.

Very true. Kids should absolutely go to schools where they are happy

But, in the case of the scholarship athlete, I wonder how many kids are unhappy as a direct result of sports related issues and ultimately transfer because they aren't starting, aren't not getting enough playing time, not be used "properly", etc

My guess is that more scholarship athletes transfer for those reasons rather than personal ones, like your daughter's
