Transfers

Paultzman, what is the likely spot? PC or Nova? Also, if Paschall commits to Villanova, look for Jay to cool in the recruitument of Alkins. Nova has too many guys who fit that mold now and will have to focus their attention elsewhere.

Nova

This was practically a done deal the day Pecora got canned.

Even if both CO and Rysheed return, there are 5-6 guys out there right now that could beat our current roster by 20 if they chose to play together.

Very good year for transfers and there is still much more to come.
Unless they are 5 th year srs who graduated, they will have to sit out a year. We need players for next year. That said, I would welcome quality transfers.

I think we could use a few of each. I wouldn't want a whole team of seniors again for the obvious drop off that will ensue the following year, but I think a winning first season by Mullin and staff could generate buzz we haven't seen in almost 20 years and silence all of the critics.

Also, since everyone would have to learn a new system, this would be the year you can add a ton of guys without a major disruption.

If everyone returns and recruits stay committed:

Seniors - Obekpa, Balamou
Juniors - Jordan, Jones
Sophs - Alibegovic, Stewart
Frosh - ADR, Sampson, Doughty, Thompkins

It's not wise to add more than four freshmen any one recruiting year if they all project to be four year guys.
have great feeling about Diallo.so if we confirm Sampson again and keep Obekpa and Jordan, im confident we will be legit.
C- ADR
F- Obekpa
F- Diallo
G- Sampson
G- Jordan
Wow!!! thats a HUGE TEAM!!!
nice bench but could add........
Balamou
Jones
Stewart
Allie
Doughty
Thompkins
That list is nice, but will look different soon. Don't assume Diallo is probable because of our new coach & assistant. Getting him will be extremely difficult at this point in my opinion. Love what's going on though.

Ugg --does this mean you have inside info about Obekpa and/or Jordan Pautz? Those are the only guys on that list that I care about.

Plus solid academics & being relatively close to home are important to his family.

I hope tha Mullin can use his connections to help find good jobs for the players after they finish basketball. I don't want to lose out on kids because they don't feel SJU is a good enough school academically. There should be plenty of opportunities for three kids going to school in New York.

Josh Cunningham transferring out of Bradley after having a good season. We were right there until the end with him out of HS last year.

Wow. Good kid, good player. His coach was fired last week.
7.9 points, 7.5 boards per game.

Theres enough quality transfers to have 13 man team.

Lets get this kid! love having 3 years after a redshirt year.

You know me, I'm like kid a Christmas with these transfers. Plus, I love me some redshirts, and we'll actually have a staff that can develop talent.

Damion Lee is my #1 priority. Cunningham might be #2.

I forget, how does he play? A face up big man? Or a bruiser?

He's a face up with a nose for the ball that will get dirty. Good skill level...can take bigger forwards off the bounce and has somewhere between good to very good athleticism. Could transition to SF before career is done and has decent looking jumper.

@TravisHines21: Josh Cunningham, who ISU (Abdelmassih at point) recruited out of HS, is transferring from Bradley, per @michaelsobrien. Name to watch.

Good to see.
I like transfers that were successful and are leaving on their own terms. He was loyal to Bradley (his mother's alma mater I believe?) after his stock blew up and he outgrew them. Now he's staying loyal to his coach that was fired.

He's an athletic wing player. Not a good shooter but the rebounding numbers his freshman year are encouraging.

Tell Cunningham the goal during his redshirt year will be to prepare him to play SF, and he slides right into the role after Lee averages 17 ppg for us next season and gets drafted.

Wouldn't Lee have to sit a year?
