Transfers

Rhode Island has picked up a commitment from Towson transfer Four McGlynn, per a source.

Even if both CO and Rysheed return, there are 5-6 guys out there right now that could beat our current roster by 20 if they chose to play together.

Very good year for transfers and there is still much more to come.

Unless they are 5 th year srs who graduated, they will have to sit out a year. We need players for next year. That said, I would welcome quality transfers.

I think the strategy is to try to field an adequate team this year & start balancing roster with some transfers who will sit out a year.

Makes a lot of sense. The way the roster is constructed now , we have no real impact players who will be around the following year.

Haven't read everything but I'm assuming we're not in the mix yet for anyone?

Verbal Commits has a list of transfers. I haven't found their info to be particularly accurate, so take it as nothing more than a list. I am not sure how often it is updated, though it seems like every minute another kid decides to transfer making it a challenge to keep any list current. The list does comment on their eligibility which could be useful for the dreamers. Many kids listed with immediate eligibility. The list list the number of stars each kid had coming out of high school.

Suspect Matt will have some ideas. As noted by others, he is adroit at playing transfer game.

@JonRothstein: "Providence transfer Tyler Harris will visit UConn on Wednesday"

I know about the consequences of transferring within the conference, but do those rules apply when the player transferring has graduated, as Tyler is doing this spring?

yukon is no longer in the BE.

I realize that Tom
I should have made myself more clear
Is Tyler, under his circumstances, a possible option for us?

BE does not allow transfers within the conference, no exceptions.

I think we could use a few of each. I wouldn't want a whole team of seniors again for the obvious drop off that will ensue the following year, but I think a winning first season by Mullin and staff could generate buzz we haven't seen in almost 20 years and silence all of the critics.

Also, since everyone would have to learn a new system, this would be the year you can add a ton of guys without a major disruption.

If everyone returns and recruits stay committed:

Seniors - Obekpa, Balamou
Juniors - Jordan, Jones
Sophs - Alibegovic, Stewart
Frosh - ADR, Sampson, Doughty, Thompkins

It's not wise to add more than four freshmen any one recruiting year if they all project to be four year guys.

Are there freeze periods where transfers are concerned similar to H.S.ers?

@EvanDaniels: Source tells Scout that Damion Lee, who averaged 21.4 points a game this year, received his release from Drexel on Tuesday.

That list is nice, but will look different soon. Don't assume Diallo is probable because of our new coach & assistant. Getting him will be extremely difficult at this point in my opinion. Love what's going on though.

i hear ya, but that team is possible...look at that size!!! we NEVER had a team with that much size starting. The guards are 6-4 for goodness sake!!

@pcbb1917: Fordham transfer Eric Paschall is on the Villanova campus today, per @NovaHoops1. Visit to PC being worked on for next week #pcbb #gofriars

Likely spot I hear

Paultzman, what is the likely spot? PC or Nova? Also, if Paschall commits to Villanova, look for Jay to cool in the recruitument of Alkins. Nova has too many guys who fit that mold now and will have to focus their attention elsewhere.

PC is a better fit, but I think he'll land at Nova. I agree with you that Paschal going to Nova kind of eliminates the need for Rawle. Getting both players would be duplicitous. Almost all of Nova's roster will be 6'3-6'6 guards and forwards.
