Transfers SJU May Get Involved With

At this point, it seems like a safe bet that 90-100% of the front court minutes will be divided between Ahmed, Owens, Clark and Yakwe. While Clark will provide help, nothing in his history points to him being a force under the boards, which is what this team needs desperately. Looks like Yakwe will be playing a lot of center. The guards will have to stay home and help on the defensive boards. So forget the pipe dreams of a running game. Unless there is a last minute miracle, staff didn't get the job done addressing the most glaring needs.

Another possibility.......
How about Yakwe improving over the summer - which some kids are able to do - I like the staff even if some do not - and I appreciate their attempts to move our expansion team into a Div I level - you know that CM & Co. are well aware of
1.who needs up lift,
2.who needs to eat,
3.who needs to shoot

If I could choose one for myself this summer, well then:
It's #2!!!
This summer I'm Eating lol

let's go St. John's.......please

The staff is out there trying, and knows better than all of us what needs to be done. Maybe Yakwe gets much better. Maybe Owens gains 50 pounds of muscle. At some point, it would be nice to start a season believing we have all of the pieces ready, and we just need to avoid the unexpected. Now, we have to hope for the unexpected.

Not a transfer but via Zagoria
2017 @_ClutchCarter Visits Georgetown Saturday-Sunday &
St John's Sunday -Monday

Nahz Carter, former Dayton commit.

He's also not a big but apparently he is Jay Z's nephew so he's got that going for him.

I believe Clark is a really good rebounder.

Exactly what we need :(

I actually think we need a SF just so we can play around a bit more with the lineup. If we can't find a big, Clark and Ahmed are going to be getting a lot of minutes at the 4, and I actually can see us using Clark at the 5, possibly a lot. I'm not that afraid to go with a core of eight, but these kids are going to need a breather at some point. And Yakwe isn't the most versatile player so he'll be limited in what positions he plays.

The Kid Hamdy from VCU would fit nicely into our system

At the very least he would know who we are, because he was a recruit in the Lavin era. Not sure how much contact there was, though.

Rooks and a wing would give us tremendous flexibility. Everything points in the direction of Chris wanting to play Nellie racehorse basketball which is very attractive when coupled with good D.

Rooks isn't exactly a racehorse but he plays D and no matter what we still end up playing 1/2 court offense a significant amount of time. With solid D our offense will start to look brilliant especially if we had a big who can handle slick passes...

Has anybody seen or read something to suggest we are even remotely involved with Rooks?

I think Paultz hinted Simon might be working on him. They played high school ball at relatively nearby schools in L.A.

That does not sound promising

Guessing Beverly only guy in play for power slot, but things change. Of course "in play" not what folks want.
