Transfers SJU May Get Involved With

"Nyet", favor visit I'd say.

Recruiting is all about cultivating and maintaining relationships, because you never know just when they will pay off. And sometimes that means helping drum up support for another guy's kid. So for everyone worried that we'll get him, USF needs bodies so I suspect he ends up there with a friendly invisible nudge from us.

Hypothetically speaking, Chris Cheney coached Scenic in high school. At another one of his coaching stops, Cheney also coached DeAndre Kane, who found a home at Iowa State after transferring. Matt A. coached at Iowa State at the time. Cheney is now at a new basketball academy in Pennsylvania that eventually may prove useful to producing Big East players. Again, this is all hypothetical. you would be real good at playing 6 degrees of Kevin Bacon :)

Unfortunately, I don't read it that way. I read it as if the kid is going elsewhere but going thru the motions with us (maybe we are HIS back-up plan). There is no grad transfer and we will get the 2 star (hopefully rising) 6.8 freshman from Brooklyn. And hope Yakwe wakes up.

Nah, SJU backup plan in this case.

Just me, but still hanging in there re a transfer big, but been wrong before. Bottom of 8th. ...

If it was the bottom of the 9th I'd be concerned. ;)
hopefully it isn't 16 innings like the met game last night

with us, it's probably bottom of the 9th, two outs and an 0 and 2 count against us. :)

with David Wright batting

I looked at Verbal Commits.com this morning and did a quick count My count has 124 immediately eligible guys with 55 of those taken. Don't quote the numbers, cause my wife was giving me my assignments so my attention was divided.

The take-away is: It is getting late in the game.

what did i tell you about code talk? haha

There are also guys who haven't announced their intentions to transfer publicly yet. . .

Mid April and still haven't announced their intentions to transfer publicly yet?

Well wtf are they waiting for, June?

Their best deal. Btw, Rutgers picked up a serviceable big guy in the summer last season. Some things just take time to develop.

considering that we need two or three Bigs, one would be nice to ease some anxiety

In the old days Bob Murphy would consider that a rally. :)

We have gotten a commitment from a sit out transfer guard with good talent who was Delaware State player of the year. Any thoughts from any Delaware residents at St. John's?
The rest of the transfers hopefully don't look like two bigs, a forward and another guard who Matt "show me the money" Abdelmassih recruited on the fly who may look less than impact players and more like these guys:

Doesn't look a bit over 6'8. Pass. :)

Wrong! He is too tall, too white and was not a Juco All American so he is not a good fit. In fact, since he isn't American, he couldn't be an All-American anything.
Give me another guard who needs to sit a year!

All jokes aside, he may not be the big we want but he fills an immediate need. He played for a JUCO that won the national title. If Scekic has solid hands and is hungry for boards then I welcome him with open arms. We don't need an All American in the front court, just a formidable presence to keep opposing teams honest.
