I love Posh as much as any player since Harrison/Hatten. I think you are making some unfounded assumptions. Kids can now leave when they think a situation better suits their goals or for any other reason, legitimate or not. We do not know what was conveyed as between Pitino and Posh. The "tea leaves" are suggesting that both Posh and Storr were advised they were wanted back in some capacity. A new coach is entitled to form his roster as he chooses, just like a player is now able to transfer without penalty one time (and some transfer more than that). A new coach is also entitled to evaluate his potential options and is not required to guarantee PT to anyone. In fact, no coach is required to guarantee PT to anyone.

If, as I presume, the staff was honest with both Posh and Storr in how they see the roster shaping up, and what that means for potential playing time, that was both appropriate and fair. That's certainly a better option for the kid than promising big minutes to keep them around only to have the situation change once the roster is fully formed.

At the end of the day, we don't know the specifics, and Pitino will be judged on how the roster performs. And, my god, the man has earned the right to formulate the roster in whatever manner he sees fit.

Right. I mean, Storr and Posh were identified as the kids everyone pretty much wanted to stay, along with Soriano. Ultimately, it is between Pitino and those kids. They have every right to explore options they think are better, just like Pitino has every right to formulate the roster how he wants. If anything, it seems the staff was transparent with both, which as a player (or a parent of a player) is exactly what you want.
 
I am sure most members on this board liked the players that have left to date, but a lot of money was spent to squire the services of Pitino. He said at his presser, that the roster would be radically different. Let’s give him room to get the job done. We will be happy with the product he puts on the court

We don’t know what was said. It’s okay to speculate but to attach feelings to that speculation doesn’t seem fair.

I’d also add that I think it’s a good thing for new coaches to be as transparent as possible about how they see a player fitting in going forward. That allows the player to make an informed decision.

With Posh-Pitino my feeling is that there is a communication issue that can easily be resolved.

Only way I see that happens is if Pitino does land guys he seems to really want and Posh not happy with his options.

Agree here. I think while there are many posters who would like to have seen Posh stay (realize he could still do that but don't think it's likely) most of those are happy to have a hall of fame coach and agree he should get to choose his roster as he sees fit.
What pisses people off is the need to trash kids on their way out and also agree that this is limited to a small minority who are gonna do what they're gonna do.

At last I get to post this, very old but a favorite.

Jesus and Moses are playing golf. They get to a hole with a big water trap and Jesus gets very excited. "I can try my new one iron." Moses responds "Please use a wood. You don't hit the ball that far." Jesus uses the one iron, the ball goes in to the water trap and Jesus says "Yo, Mo, could you use one of your clubs to part the water so I can get my ball back?" Moses says okay and parts the water but again tells Jesus to use a wood.

Jesus again uses his new one iron and again the ball goes in to the water trap. He get Moses to again part the water to retrieve his ball but this time Moses says, "Use a wood, if you put it in the water again using that one iron you're on your own" Not easily daunted, Jesus again uses his one iron and again the ball goes in the water. He looks at Moses who shakes his head no and Jesus proceeds to walk on the water to get his ball back.

Just then, the next foursome arrives, sees Jesus walking on the water and says to Moses "What's with that guy? He thinks he's Jesus Christ?" Moses answers "He is Jesus Christ. He thinks he's Arnold Palmer."
 
Cuerbelo good riddance Anderson should have done that mid season . So far we have 4 left but Rick did say roster going to be radically different

Try to get it soft again...you know, anything over four hours call a doctor. Go through the posts and include the many who say he and Posh would only get 15 minutes of action under Pitino's system...and the superstars he plans to bring in. Take responsibility for disrespecting players who gave their all to amuse you.

What's wrong with coming off the bench and getting 25-28mpg. I said that last night.

I'll be brutally honest. A team with a Posh starting isn't getting to the elite 8.
Everyone isn't starters, but that doesn't mean that they aren't any good.

I can envision him with the team having a nice 6-7pnt lead, and him coming in and playing lockdown defense.

Just get the win and he'll get his 7-10pnts, 4-5 assists, 3 steals. That's a good team player.

I think one of Holloways kids from St Peters transferred there last season . I forget his name , he was the streaky shooter with the mustache . Pinzon has a very decent shot and very experienced from his International play . Injuries and Health issues seem to nag him these past 2 years .

Now you are changing your story. Getting 15-20 minutes in the Big East is the equivalent of not being a BE player, really? What kind of logic is that.

So when you said others said they were NOT BE caliber players you actually meant they were not All-League SUPERSTAR BE players is that your argument now?

I am a role player and get only 6-8 minutes in the NBA, that doesn't make me an NBA player? Huh....
