chances his identity is revealed...? he is on the money
Not fun being a Rutgers fan right now:
this is scary. With all the success at Rutgers lately, it is hard to fathom how quickly they could lose lustre.

They may have to hide it like we did with the Lapchick statueCan someone get me an update on the Pikiell statue.
“All the success at Rutgers lately” is an exaggeration.this is scary. With all the success at Rutgers lately, it is hard to fathom how quickly they could lose lustre.
“All the success at Rutgers lately” is an exaggeration.
It is more like a brief uptick from bottom feeder to mid level.
Not saying Pikiell is not a good coach, but there were people here who swooned over him.If the issue is NIL then I would fully expect Pikiell to move on soon. Sure Rutgers hasn't turned the world on its head, until you remember he was doing this at Rutgers. Doesn't hurt his profile if he can blame on the boosters.
It was in comparison to what we had going on which was nothing. Not saying Pikiell is not a good coach, but there were people here who swooned over him.
This has now to do with Rutgers than Pikiell. They were mediocre to bad for a good while. It is not a surprise they will struggle again.Pikiell is a good coach but a better person. I have the pleasure of knowing the man, and regardless of those compelled to belittle those “In the neighborhood” because they achieve something SJU fans haven’t sniffed in ages, he did it the right way, coached hard and successfully and then seriously upgraded recruiting via that same old school hard work ethic; only to see it fall apart. Not remotely his fault and what has happened at Rutgers should serve as a warning to real college hoop fans everywhere just how much the game many of us grew up loving just is no more.
We just disagree, Pikiell knew nothing of the sort; he recruited a very impressive class and you don’t work as hard as he and his staff did to get that recruiting class with an it “could could fall apart quickly” mindset. This has now to do with Rutgers than Pikiell. The advantages of NJ tax dollars were not enough to make Rutgers a top BE school. They will never be consistently competitive against other state funded BIG 10 schools.
And while Pikiell did a good job at Rutgers, he probably knew he hit a ceiling there and it could fall apart quickly.
And the NIL has changed college sports forever. Great coaches like Jay Wright retired earlier than anyone thought in part due to not wanting to deal with it.
All good Logen. I dislike Rutgers because (just like UConn) because they were/are state schools in a predominantly small private school conference. Pikiell (and whoever the coach is) will have guilt by association as far as I am concerned. We just disagree, Pikiell knew nothing of the sort; he recruited a very impressive class and you don’t work as hard as he and his staff did to get that recruiting class with an it “could could fall apart quickly” mindset.
As for NIL changing everything, that was the point of my post you responded to.
Finally, I guess SJU should have the same mind set since they have been mediocre to bad certainly for a long enough time to be comparable to Rutgers. As for RU in the Big 10, they have been competitive to successful in pretty much every sport but football, which of course is THE benchmark.
