Thought he committed to New Mexico (Richard Pitino)Iona’s Nelly Junior Joseph is in the portal so that’s always a solid fall back. I’d rather have a MAAC or CAA big man that wants to play in the paint than a top 80 kid who wants to be Durant.

Visit but no commitThought he committed to New Mexico (Richard Pitino)
Where's jonnyrapper? LolI see that the naysayers have reappeared in force the last 2 days. Oh well, it’s human nature I guess.
He’s a naysayer no more now that Pitino is on board. He was a naysayer when we had crappy coaches it just took the majority of the board a lot longer to recognize a crappy coach when they saw one.Where's jonnyrapper? Lol
Dont hate Posh at all. Hes just not very good and we can and will easily recruit over him.It does amaze me how someone that idolized Earlington has such hate for Posh.
Earlington improved each year at st johns, could shoot the ball and worked really hard.It does amaze me how someone that idolized Earlington has such hate for Posh.
Nothing officialHave we got official or just speculation that Clayton jr and Jenkins are committed ? Whatever happens with Posh , he’s earned kudos from fans for his play over 3 years . True , year 3 wasn’t a vintage one for him but , CMA put him in a difficult situation with Curbelo . Now , none of us amateurs know what Pitino is pursuing right now . We also do not know what the dysfunction was in the Locker Room or Class room . Obviously it wasn’t a Happy Family .
That ship has sailed. If Pitino is still a great coach, a core of Soriano/Posh/Storr/Gardner plus a couple of stud transfer shooters ought to be enough to get you to the top tier of the Big East….
where have you seen this ? its not posted anywhereYup, its done. We have a back court that can shoot. I thought id never see it at st johns again. This will be glorious.
He let the inmates run the asylum. The issue was coach and players equally. Only guys who cared were Joel and Drissa. With all the players not returning, doesn't that strengthen Mike Anderson's case by emphasizing it was the players and not the coach that was the problem?
Just going by what both players recently posted on social media and their relationship with Pitino. Im just connecting the dots.where have you seen this ? its not posted anywhere
Well Anderson recruited the players. I suspect it was some combination of poor/desperate recruiting and an antiquated/disorganized system/philosophy.With all the players not returning, doesn't that strengthen Mike Anderson's case by emphasizing it was the players and not the coach that was the problem?
I think it was too difficult for CMA to deal with the BE competition , the best Coaches, the recruiting , etc . He came from big State Schools , Missour , Arkansas where he could usually attract the best or near best players in those States . And , in his system , he needed big , Athletic guys who could handle his defense . On offense , he let them free lance and several of his players had NBA potential . But , even with all that , he missed the NCAA almost as much as he made the tournament . Plus , he’s a Southern guy . Here he was dealing mostly with Players who grew up in NY or , at least the North East . It was a adjustment . And , let’s face it , he kind of fell into Cragg ‘s lap . He wasn’t in the mix originally . At the bottom line , he just didn’t do the job expected of a major BB Coach . On the Court or , apparently off it as well .Well Anderson recruited the players. I don’t believe Anderson is a bad coach or a bad guy. He has a successful track record and that’s no accident.
The SJU job is an incredibly difficult one and Anderson was clearly not a good fit. Few coaches are for this program.
I truly do believe that if anybody can turn this ship around it’s Pitino. I’m maintaining a healthy skepticism with all the departures, but there’s no doubting that we have one of the greats steering the ship and that’s pretty awesome.
Nolan Richardson was a monster coach and the further away Anderson got from him his own coaching weakened. He also wasn’t able to evolve like Pitino did with going from his UK defense to his Louisville defense.I think it was too difficult for CMA to deal with the BE competition , the best Coaches, the recruiting , etc . No it strengthens St. John’s case that things were out of control and the inmates were running the asylum. With all the players not returning, doesn't that strengthen Mike Anderson's case by emphasizing it was the players and not the coach that was the problem?
