John Calipari has been landing top 10 players for the last 20 years (including Memphis). He landed Boogie at UK it was almost a given he would follow him to Arkansas.
But according to some Miami’s fans, they have their best recruiting class ever , some of the guys leaving (not the three starters) were going to lose minutes anyway. They also were missing starters all yeah. Losing that talent and experience does suck. The Hall has to get their NIL and other situations that does not include their HC straightened out.
Yes, but I think Sha will get kids regardless. There are only so many spots for so many players.
Also, I still don't think Richmond ends up here. But what do I know.

Maybe Holloway struggling with NIL for the next 5 years will make him attainable as our next head coach
Every program has to survive and play the current NIL/Open Transfer game aggressively to survive. SJU seems equipped to do that, but the BE will be harmed as a whole if programs like SH slip dramatically due to absence of sufficient resources. Imo, a very top heavy league with multiple bottom feeders is a red flag for the best conference from competitive aspect out there.

FWIW trilly compared Halls nil situation to OK State. And not complimentary. Found that surprising
Miami always has major movement in and out. Larranaga is just such a monster coach that he can usually figure it out. They had some injuries (but nothing crazy) this past year, but they were the only high major team that I watched the last season that had worse chemistry than us.
Top ten coach in the sport IMO, great individual players who have achieved a ton of success, and a 14th place finish. It shows how important fit and chemistry are to team success. One or two guys can upset that balance in a devastating way.

Completely right. We saw what happened to Big East Dance invites this past season with the effect of two league bottom feeders.
Agree. Aside from struggling to keep/add players, you risk losing good coaches. We have discussed a number of times, no matter how much Holloway professes his love for Seton Hall, and is praised for doing more with less, you ultimately want to win. That is why you compete.
And competing just to make the NCAAs can wear thin. Aside from the larger paycheck, it is similar to coaching mid-majors again.
You can see why a talented guy like Holloway, with some nice resume items, can’t sit still too much longer at SH w/o sufficient resources. If he has some losing seasons the bloom will be off the rose since we live in a “what have you done for me lately” world.
Makes what Williard was able to do there all that more impressive.

Heck, he just had an outstanding season at Seton Hall (locked up 4th place in the BE, beat UConn and Marquette) still can't get the resources. It's sad what this new NIL landscape has done.
But terrain had changed dramatically since he left re NIL and transfer mania with no sitting out.
Also took him 6 years and some questionable asst coach hiring to get in his first NCAA...
And oh btw he left for a bigger job with better resources just as the landscape was changing further.
I have said many times the SHU job is the toughest job in the conference. Lower then DePaul in terms of resources. Quite frankly it is not close...
