THIS Season (formerly Next Season)

Would like to see the freshmen and Williams play as much as possible and would start the three best with the hired guns early in the season. The freshmen and Williams will be part of the future of the program but need to earn the starting rolls. Would consider playing Balamou some early on as well. I think Amar needs some more time to develop as well but could be useful later in the season as well.

It will be interesting to see any skills development from Felix or Jones. Felix has the obvious athletic ability and Jones is reported to have it though we have never really seen it in games.

I like Williams #s in particular that most of his shots are inside high percentage and he's adept at drawing fouls. Then when he is outside he's a legitimate threat.

We've got a bunch of guys that can shoot (including Sima) and LoVett can penetrate and dish. The offense has potential to be a lot of fun. That said, Creighton had a nice offense last season but lost a ridiculous number of close games. Hope we have some defensive muscle.

I don't remember Felix showing much last season. AA showed much more, IMO.

Felix is very athletic and can play defense. His offense has been limited but again he is athletic and may be able to score on fast breaks. Amar needs to work on his shooting (his form was good but nothing went in). He fouls too much on defense to play much. That has to improve.

These are my exact feelings. I love that pretty much everyone can knock down a shot. We have enough shooters that there shouldn't be too many nights where we can't buy a basket. Last season it felt like if Harrison & Greene weren't hitting jump shots we were pretty much at a lose for offense. They won a number of games because Pointer played like he was possessed and single-handedly got us through some stretches where everyone else went ice cold.

The defense has me a little nervous too. Another defensive big like Yakwe (fingers crossed for 2016 it sounds like) would have gone a long way. Alot of defense is effort and conditioning though and I do believe Mullin will demand those things so I'm hopeful they'll be scrappy enough to make it an interesting year.

Hooper, Bourgeault and others could physically shoot the ball but couldn't translate it into games when playing at a certain level of competition. Let's hope our new guys shooting holds up against high D1 competition.

The key for the new guys will be getting consistent playing time, and be allowed to get into the flow of the game.

The biggest problem for Hooper and Bourgeault was that they would either: 1.) play only one or two minutes at a time, or 2.) miss one shot and then be taken out.

I get that they are in there to shoot and need to be able to shoot, but its alot of pressure knowing that your playing time will be determined by whether or not you make your first shot.

Both got a better shot than 1-2 mins a game, and both came up short. Great shooters can wake in the middle of the night and drain jumpers, or at least be ready to do so. Neither could against serious D1 competition. Neither had much success anywhere else. I liked Marco better than Max, because he had some better overall skills.

Back on topic ... regrettably I think we are going to get crushed next season.

The main interest will be in seeing how the new staff's strategy, tactics, and player use develop, and to see how the incoming bright spots from the recruiting effort develop and compete over the course of the year.

Hopefully we will be competitive enough that it doesn't take the heart out of the incoming freshmen and also doesn't negatively impact recruiting for next year.

A good season to "keep it real" in terms of expectations, I think. Just too much to hope that the staff somehow catches lightening in a bottle right off the bat and has a Cinderella story for the ages. I'm just hoping for some bright spots is all.

The bright spot Im looking for Is Bright Lights Lovett. I think he can turn us into winners right away. He has difference-maker written all over him. Chris just has to settle on a rotation and coach.

We can only hope that LoVett and Sima are eligible this season

met Big time Redmen supporter Mullberry at a party over the weekend. Sadly his prediction for this year is a measly 12 wins. However that doesn't kill his enthusiasm for the Johnnie's Hope to meet him again at a game this year.

Sounds right to me, afterall, the only guys who have played together (and not too much BTW) is Balamou, Jones and Amar.

A good season to "keep it real"

LOVETT brings it up across mid-court and passes to MUSSINI who drives the lane! He kicks it out to WILLIAMS!! Head fake passes it down low to SIMA!!! The big man spins, ducks under and finds MVOUIKA in the corner!!!! Touch pass to JOHNSON who finds BALAMOU cutting!!!!! Balamou up and under and over to JONES who backs his man down!!!!!! He turns and finds ELLISON all alone!!!!!!. Ellison down low to ALIBEGOVIC who seals off his man and spots LIPSCOMB!!!!!!!. Lipscomb to MULLIN for three........ IT"S GOOD!!!!!!!!!! The University of St. John's wins the championship of the colleges!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Might not seem to be much of a workout for a keyboard warrior such as yourself but most people would consider that a good workout. Also as you can see its a drill where hes going from station to station. Try harder, troll
