THIS Season (formerly Next Season)

Might not seem to be much of a workout for a keyboard warrior such as yourself but most people would consider that a good workout. Also as you can see its a drill where hes going from station to station. Try harder, troll

Just remember this:
The definition of insanity is attempting a logical conversation with jumbo peanuts over and over again and expecting different results.

Fair enough. Are we all just treating this as a case of "if we ignore it maybe it will go away?"

If so, ill do the same

When Sima first committed I was happy just to get a big guy who could defend and rebound, but the more video I see of him the more optimistic I get that he'll grow into a big contributor on offense. Especially with a crafty guy like LoVett driving and dishing.

I think it's pretty safe to assume from that 10 seconds of video that all he did was that exact same thing over and over again for the entirety of the workout and furthermore that he's just been doing that same 10 seconds all summer.

I agree. My thought from the beginning has been that Sima and Lovett are the two biggest pieces. If two of your building blocks are a PG and a big with lots of upside, that's an excellent way to start. Then you fill in the rest around that.

Hopefully both will play well, the upside will be real, and we will get to watch them get there. My guess is that Lovett will move along faster than Sima, because guards almost invariably adjust before bigs. But looking forward to watching them both.

Looks like the guys are excited to get on campus.

Here's video of Sima working out:

I really hope your idea of working out is not throwing the ball off the backboard for dunks...

Such a disparaging attitude, I know it's nothing new. Reminds me of - was it - the movie the Great Santini with Robert Duvall bouncing the basketball against his teenage son's head - a parent never satisfied, needing to critique and torment others...a poster never satisfied...sometimes I think it's just an insincere put-on to stir up some animosity. Yes that's it! Posts sent in bad faith. Oh well.
Thank God peanuts come in different sizes. And with different DNAs.
all the best - anyway

This is a duplicate -sorry about that. I was too caught up in the emotion of my response.
Great time to be a SJU fan. Great time. Big time. Not peanuts. The big bass, no treble.
Go St. John's!

Tried to watch the whole video but after 3 hours it is getting late and I have to go to sleep. Can someone please tell me how it ends? Does he make any 3 pointers? Thanks!

Everyone says they want to ignore me....but yet, they keep mentioning me and calling me out in posts.....

Back on topic ... regrettably I think we are going to get crushed next season.

The main interest will be in seeing how the new staff's strategy, tactics, and player use develop, and to see how the incoming bright spots from the recruiting effort develop and compete over the course of the year.

Hopefully we will be competitive enough that it doesn't take the heart out of the incoming freshmen and also doesn't negatively impact recruiting for next year.

A good season to "keep it real" in terms of expectations, I think. Just too much to hope that the staff somehow catches lightening in a bottle right off the bat and has a Cinderella story for the ages. I'm just hoping for some bright spots is all.

I do agree that 11-14 overall wins and 4-6 in conference wins are the likely outcome for the season. The problem on here and for all fans won't so much be absorbing the overall outcome of the season, almost certain to be below .500 overall, but the inevitable criticisms on a game to game basis about player rotations, in game decisions, and losses that could have been wins if only ______. Inevitably Mullin's lack of experience will be questioned, the lack of talent will be scrutinized, and the progress in corralling 4 star recruits a prominent discussion. It will take a lot of discipline for fans to be patient, so I am girding myself for those types of reactions. Rebuilding this program (again) is a 3-4 season process, which was cemented by the loss of CO and Jordan. I just hope calmer heads prevail around here. There is an incredible amount to be positive about.

We are coming off a 20+ win season, and an NCAA tourney appearance. I don't think the program as a whole is in as big a shambles as some are making it out to be....

Patience is still going to be necessary for this coming season. It's going to come as a shock to some.
The last two seasons we were returning 90% of our team. It's the complete opposite this time around.

Shambles is not a word I would use, who did? Oh yeah, you. The image of the team, despite a couple knuckleheads, is better than it's been in a while at least with regard to product on the court and recruiting prowess (both Lavin's and the new staff's) but the team loses top 6 scorers, top 6 rebounders, top 6 assist men, every player who played double digit minutes. That, combined with the fact that in a pretty good incoming class two are one year rentals, is a sure sign of rebuilding that's likely to take 2-3 classes and that's all that either of the first two posters were saying.

Wow we did lose guys but break down what we lost none have been exceptional or replaceable We at best were a team that barely made it in to post season and than we were really bad. Yes we lose O who blocked shots but thats all he did ,no offense no shooting ability no driving ability RS you never knew what you were going to get as far as Harrison and and DOM they had heart and were above average in some aspects of their game Guess I am saying I like what staff has put together and feel the product will be better next season than the past season Know many will disagree just my opinion RESPECT anyone who dons a st johns uniform and gives 100% Glad that Dom is getting his shot talent is there he just has to learn and let it out

I completely agree that patience is needed, but I find it ironic that calls for patience are coming from Desco! You were frying up Lavin more than a year before his first class entered their senior season.
