THIS Season (formerly Next Season)

I think you guys are underestimating experience. Average seniors beat up talented freshmen all the time in the Big East because they are bigger and more experienced. Our two best seasons in recent memory .. 2010 and 2014 are proof of that.

I here you Desco but Durand Johnson and Mvouika are not Freshman and if we get Papagiannis I wouldn't consider him a Freshman either. Alibegovic is guy who can make that next step. We have to see what the final roster looks like.

Fair point Gene. Not everybody is really "new" to the game at this level.
Either way, I'm excited for the season. Adding Rowan and Papa G would make things very very exciting.

What I can see shaping up is a team that makes enormous strides between November and March. The frontburner issues that we have right now are Sima's eligibility and landing Papa. That would give us a more balanced team than we've had in a very long time.

Desco-I agree with your comments, but I do not see the plethora (been wanting to use that word for years) of upperclassmen that will overwhelm a well-coached team. I see Mullin schooling these kids in game and in practice so that the can adjust to tactics used against them. Let's hope all our kids have their ears open and are able to make the necessary adjustments.

With a probable lineup of

Williams
Amar
Johnson
Ellison
Mussini

Exciting times ahead.

Things would have been so much better had Lavin been retained.

The quotes coming out of the basketball office would have been better.

I honestly believe that things would be exactly the same if Lavin had been retained: a rough season next year (which probably would have happened no matter who the coach was, although an argument could be made that we would be alot better next year with Lavin at the helm) with a lot of question marks about the future. The biggest thing regarding the future will be the ability of Mullin to close the deal and sign some of these highly ranked players. I just hope he figures it out sooner rather than later.

How much more did you expect out of Mullin with the late start he got? I think this is more than anyone could have hoped for.

Lavin had two "commits" despite a ton of roster spots. In late March. And for my money only doughty would have showed up of those two.

I think the naysayers will have some bristled crow to eat come March 2016.
Let's Go Redmen! :)

Here we go again with all the naysayers before we see this team is completely assembled and have practiced and shown us what they can do on the court....sheesh.........im not saying we will be great or that we will be terrible.....wait and see and then do your complaining

I actually think the starting 5 proposed by TIS is not a bad one. It would be even better if we can get Lovett and Sima on board.

The problem is the same as last year: lack of depth. What happens when fouls and/or injury hits?

If they can get a big man and everyone is eligible, I'm with you on this one.

I'm with you guys also. Another big man is key in addition to Sima being eligible. Does anyone expect anything out of Christian Jones? He must be working hard if he is still here.

Same posters did the same routine this time last year. With that being said this young squad is one I don't expect to make the ncaas, but certainly won't be as bad as everyone thinks, and plus I keep saying this and I know it's like beating a dead horse, but the amount of experience they will gain from this season will mesh well with the 2016 studs I think we get two years from now

Whoops, actually didn't mean to hit "Thank You" on this post. I agree there will be struggles this year. However, I think it will be more due to youth and less about depth.

Regardless, I am extremely optimistic about this program.

Something we finally agree on.
Be still my heart.

I feel like mkras is being sarcastic and if he's not I disagree
