THIS Season (formerly Next Season)

@becb_sbn: Arizona State & St. John's to play 12/22 in Vegas, per @JonRothstein. Can't think of a better place than Vegas to escape a NYC winter

I might go to that game. I have clients in Henderson. Great excuse for business trip

Hurley vs, Mullin. Interesting

For everyone who is predicting a long rebuilding process:

@PaulBiancardi: Duke lost 80% of its scoring and their only PG (T.Jones) ...Now the have the #1 recruiting class & a top 20 team. The power of recruiting

By no means are we Duke and I don't expect to ever be able to just reload like they do. However, with all of the one and dones and transfers these days, it doesn't have to take 3-4 years.

It's true. The funny thing is by the end of this week, we might be more worried about the drop off in 2016 than this year. We could lose Obekpa, Mvouika, Jordan, Johnson, and perhaps even Diallo. We'll likely need one more round of grad transfers to bridge the gap to 2016 being ready to take over full-time.

I think Johnson has 2 years. Replacing Obekpa with Owens, Mawookie with Herron would mean that they're just a great PG (Temple Gibbs AND Charlie Moore?) away from equal or upgrade with a bunch more rides to hand out, but I get your point. If Diallo commits to STJ we can start complaining about him leaving. ;)

If we don't get him, I'll be less annoyed if Diallo is one and done.

One year for Johnson

Sorry given that he'd only played 2 years I thought he was class of 2012 and would still have 5 to play 4. As class of '11 I imagine it'd be difficult to get a 6th year with his credentials. No injuries or such. Why didn't he play in 11/12? Academics or injury?

Injured one year and suspended another.

My daily news says Diallo chose Kansas. Where do we go now?

We get a couple of guards and then go to the gym and become the hardest working, best conditioned team in the Big East. That's it. That's the whole plan. We'll get a couple of solid guards who can play right away and that's our team. There's no secret 5 star kid who is going to be brought out from behind a curtain.

The starting lineup is probably going to be something along the lines of Jordan, Eliison or Johnson (assuming things work out) , Obekpa, Williams and Sima. If we're extra lucky, LoVett is in there, but probably not. A little more time to finish up recruiting but then it's time to stop asking for more and support the team you've got. Excited to finalize the backcourt and get behind these guys.

I think that Alibegovic will be the most improved player on the team under Mullin's coaching. I just think that his game is much better suited for what Mullin wants to do here based on the skill sets of the players that Mullin has brought in here already and the players that he is currently recruiting. Alibegovic is long kid who shoot the ball. I think Mullin will help him improve his shot also.

Been away from the board for awhile, not sure if posted elsewhere. Could someone give a quick re-cap of what our roster will look like next year. Lots of activity!

I hope there is a good answer for this question and I understand there are a few IF's in it.

If Mussini stays in Italy and Lovett does not qualify (both are possibilities) ..... if Jordan is out of the game, who brings the ball up the court?

Mvouika

you have got to be kidding me... that is not a reasonable answer. He is 6'6" and has never played PG in college or in the last few years.
