The Transfer Portal (in general)

Indiana transfer Jordan Geronimo tells @Stockrisers he’s heard from Virginia, Providence, Pittsburgh, Texas A&M, Ohio State, Penn State, and Seton Hall since entering the transfer portal.

6’6 prospect with great size and major upside. Former four-star appeared in 21 games.
 
I know it's pure transfer madness, but now Dunn entering the portal does make me wonder about how our guys felt about CMA.  Hopefully this is just an aberration.

Dunn trying to set a record for most schools played for in a college basketball career.  This would be school #4 for him.  For some reason I'm not surprised by this, I kinda felt like he would do something like say he's not playing another year then change his mind and transfer and play another year somewhere else, I just had a gut feeling.

As someone who was a Dunn fan his first year, honestly not that big of a loss, undersized SG who can't shoot at all, he regressed his second year here, and had some of the most head scratching turnovers I've ever seen.  Williams, Moore, Cole, and Earlington were the losses I didn't like to see... Dunn... meh.

LOL, I forgot about that.  That is kinda crappy of Dunn to leave St. John's high and dry like that after everything the coaching staff and administration did to get him eligible.  
 
Up to 7 transfers now with Dunn leaving. Bad look for the school having so many transfer out (is it the most now of any school?). Hopefully we get one or two more newcomers this week to offset that a bit.

With this news I am starting to think like JohnnyFan, something else is up here.

This is a mass exodus.  With 8 transfers St. John's is probably now up to one of the top teams in the country as far as turnover.  Something is going on.  Did the players not like CMA?  I haven't heard anything like that.  Was Zach report of jealousy really that deep?  And it can't be like what he said that they just resented the New York kids because Earlington and Dunn are New York kids.  Only other possibility is maybe the team resented the underclassmen being the face of the program, Posh and Champ literally got all the attention, maybe that was a real issue with the other players.

Is this the way people are taking it? I thought the portal was just a formality we were all waiting on. It sounded to me like he was being pushed out before the season even ended, judging by CMA's comment on whether Dunn would be back.
 
Like I told the 114 guys yesterday we got more guys using the portal than Star Trek

Yup, you nailed this one. I just though as a 5 year player he was ready to move on. Yes a lot of players leave too early but then there are those who seem to make a career out of college basketball.
