The one SJU game to watch if you were quarantined
For me it would definitely be the finals of the 1964 Holiday Festival where we beat #1 ranked Michigan with Cazzie & Bill Buntin with our team inlcuding Sonny Dove & the McIntyre brothers. That was the first college game I have a clear memory of attending and the garden was electric. I'd love to see it again because it's been so long and would love the opportunity to see those long ago Johnnie greats one more time.
A close 2nd would be the overtime game we lost to Duke in the Garden in Fran's last year(believe Artest was a frosh). I did get to see that one again last year and it was great as I remembered it.
Agree, I was at that game also. It was my freshman year and cemented my life long rooting for SJU.

Someone mentioned the 1979 NCAA T upset of Duke so I tried to find it but only got a box score and ended up watching 1982 NC win over G'TOWN in the title game with Michael Jordan's game winner. Never saw that Duke game as I was in Dayton, Ohio and they didn't show that game. If anyone knows if that can is available somewhere please advise, thanks.

For wins, probably the Ohio St. blowout or the Hardy Pitt game.

For loss, against Duke with Elton Brand. Best loss I've ever experienced. Albert Richardson gave us everything he had that day when we really needed it. Actually, he probably gave us triple what he had.

Agree with SJU65, the most memorable game is against Cuse, Rowan and The Truth blocking The Pearl.

What a Game, I was way up in the blue seats with my best friend a Syracuse grad/fan, it was sweet. Those teams were great.

Perhaps some recency bias here, but as a younger fan (since early 2010s), I'd have to say the Georgetown BET, #7 Creighton BET and #12 Arizona games this year. I still enjoy watching highlights of our wins over #4 Duke 2 years ago, #13 Nova last year (and #1 2 years ago), the 3 straight Syracuse wins, etc... but a lot of those pre-CMA games are tougher to watch now given that the coaching staff/AD/etc are no longer here and those seasons didn't have great endings (with the exception of perhaps Lavin's first year). Don't get me wrong, Lavin and Mullin had some great teams/wins/memories/etc, but this is probably the most optimistic I've been heading into the off-season. I can view our most recent game and think "wow- the future is bright!" while looking back at the Duke game I think "man, if only we didn't go on that 11 game skid".

So yeah, if I'd want to re-watch anything I'd take the latest 4.5 game stretch. If only one game, then without question the Georgetown game. :)

That was Jarvis' first year and Artest's sophomore season (and last year) at St. John's.

1985...St John's at Villanova. It was the second of three times we beat the eventual national champion that year. It was a two point win...extremely well played on both sides. At one juncture, Chris Mullin was flat on his back and threw the ball in the basket. I'd see that again.

Great to relive that game. I'd forgotten what a terrific game Willie Glass had (especially hitting his FTs in the closing minute) and the brief but critical contribution by Marco Baldi (Marco Baldi!) gave us.

How can you forget the contribution of Marco Baldi? Don't you remember Lou being interviewed on the court after the game and saying "Hey, how about the big Italian import!"? ;) :)

Happen to be at that game, one of the best I've seen.

Cuss at MSG 1985. Down the entire game we tie it in Berry buzzer beater in regulation, and win it in OT. I was at the game and have it on VCR. Here is end of regulation;

Here’s a few more minutes of OT with huge shots by Chris and Pearl...

Was at that game and I remember cringing when Mark Jackson made some taunting gestures toward Pearl after making his first free throw. Remember thinking this might come back and bite him in the butt -- which it almost did. Not a very smart move on Mark's part.

Thought he was talking about his new Maserati.
