The NCAA Tournament Thread

None taken . The game tonight had nothing to do with St Johns over the last 2 fr Decades .

Painter had no plan other than Smith to Edey over and over . Clingan has enough size and bulk to hold his own against Edey and he did..

Painter is one of many who won’t get a nano second of thought for the UK job .

Purdue was just terrible tonight . Embarrassed .
The BE planted a flag this season and this post season that it’s better than just about any other Conference ,,regardless of what the Selection Committee thinks .
I don’t think Purdue had any other options. They were out-gunned at 4 positions.

Karaban did do a surprisingly good job on Edey for a stretch 4.

It may be meaningless banter but pretty sure if you seed the top six Mountain West teams that made the tournament and put them up against the top six seeded Big East teams in a tournament the Big East goes at least 5-1.

Season posting over for me on that note. Let see what our team is for next season.

Since you like stats so much…… in Big East tourney, Jenkins scores 27 points on 41% shooting, and 3 for 7, 43% from 3 with 5 assists against UConn yet you continue to badmouth the guy. By your standards he would have to score 60 points to be of value.
And we lost. So what? Conference games are often weird. Georgetown won the Big East when they were terrible. We beat UConn last year in Hartford. So what? I’m not impressed by close losses or guys that put up big stats for NIT teams like Olivari. They are a dime a dozen. It’s way harder to contribute to a very good team.

Does our 1 pt margin against North Texas take away from the win?

When UConn started post season play, what other team came anywhere near as close? Your dislike for Jenkins doesn’t allow you to see clearly.

Purdue lost to Wisconsin in the Big 10 tournament and lost the first round to a 12 seed. What is your point?

UConn barely beat 0-19 Georgetown twice last year. They barely won their 1st round Big East conference game and then lost the second round game. Then they went to dominate the ncaa tournament to a historic level.

0-19 Georgetown lost by 4 to NCAA tournament-bound Seton Hall last year in the Big East tournament. Does that mean they weren’t as bad as their record because they lost by 6 to UConn and 4 to Seton Hall?

Hurley pushing his own player in the midst of play lol, that’s a new one
What was the call on that play? The ref with the trademark high step trot doesn't signal and just gives the ball to Purdue. I think that had to be a tech on Hurley. There's no violation that covers that. Seemingly huge ref error on the world's biggest stage but he sold it well and got the ball back in play quickly to cover it.

The program is where it has been over these past two decades cause of asinine coaching hires like Mullin and Roberts.
While perhaps both misquided, the merit of those respective hires are not equivalent. Mullin was a much better coach and hire than Roberts, and Cfc for that matter. Don't take my word for it - look it up. One coach danced...two coaches didn't. Well 3 if you want to count the recent hire.

The Mullin hire was one of the dumbest things this school has ever done and there have been a lot of those. The program is where it has been over these past two decades cause of asinine coaching hires like Mullin and Roberts.

Hurley was there for the taking but the school was too busy trying to appease an old coach rather then worry about winning.
Coach Carnesecca was not the driving force behind the Mullin hiring.

The best thing about this tournament is that it’s over and we hoops fans don’t have to have all this UConn crap shoved in our faces. There must be something unfair about being a diehard fan of a program that for the last 24 years has not won a tourney game while a team/organization and fan base you despise the most has such success. Yet we keep coming back for more in hopes the tide will turn. It’s 7:00 AM, is it too early to have a drink?🤪

You should come stay with me for a while where it is all UConn all the time.
