The Hated ACC's Attempt to Invade NYC

We had this same discussion last year and they made the final 4.

Thank you for reminding me. While you're at it why don't you give me a paper cut and pour some lemon juice on it?

"Cuse will probably get in on reputation alone. That is what happens to
Big Time programs and coaches.especially from Big time conferences.

As their Coach Jimmy B. says "they are a good Big Dance team", and the Committee likes teams that historically play well in the tournament, they're in.

In the below article Mike Brey took a huge shot at the big east. I'm going to have to start rooting against Notre Dame because of this.

And Friday, Mike Brey offered this: “We’ll be in the Garden someday . . . The World’s Most Famous Arena should have the best basketball league there.”

Sellout is a sellout. BE sold out MSG each night with the exception of the opening night (14K) - which was still better than ACC opening night attendance.

ACC is a admittedly better league now, albeit only after having, poached the BE teams. That said, Big East didn't start out as the best conference. The league developed over time. All teams need to do its respective part to ramp up recruiting and invest.

At first I was with you with it being a shot, but digging further, I'm not sure it has anything to do with the Big East. First, is there really any denying the ACC is better than the Big East, poachers or not? On top of that, the Big East is signed up to have their tournament in MSG through 2026. Next year, the Big Ten will also have their tournament in MSG, but it will be the week prior to the Big East tourney. Don't see why the ACC couldn't do the same in the future.

Overall, I'm extremely happy with the Big East since we broke away. We've consistently been in the Top 3 conferences RPI wise each year, and don't show any signs of slowing down. This year we're predicted to get 7 out of 10 teams into the tournament. That's amazing. Last year Nova won the title. The only major blemish is in the past few years, Big East teams haven't made it far in the tournament for the most part.

Interesting to see that B1G tournament was not that well attended - less than 14K for semifinals (2/3 full)

and just for good measure, for those who haven't seen the actual clip, sounds like someone needs to retire already LOL

The old BE got 11 teams in once, the mighty ACC was so good this year and only got 9 teams in.

Percentage wise 7 out of 10 Big East teams, 70% of teams getting in is unbelievable.

The only teams that didn't get in were us, DeP and g-town, not even going to NIT.

I hope this year all BE teams advance deep into the Big Dance.
