The Hated ACC's Attempt to Invade NYC

So starting now we are on a full out propaganda blitz by EPSN and the ACC to invade NYC. I turned on my TV last night to the ending of the below "documentary" airing on ESPNU. The only line I heard was "Over 6 decades of New York City basketball and the ACC. WELCOME HOME!"

Welcome home?!? Are these hillbilly's delusional? That is like the Big East Playing at Greensboro and saying welcome home. The ACC doesn't have a school within 250 miles of NYC.

If I had it my way we'd have "Sherman, Sheridan, & Grant" show them some northern hospitality like the real General Sherman did. We could also re-brand the BET slogan to "March to the C - the Big East Tournament at MSG" as a nod to Sherman's March to the Sea, to spite the ACC trying to invade NYC.

They can play their tournament at Barclays. I love Brooklyn but that arena stinks.

Have only been there one time -- for the Police Academy graduation, so not even a sporting event -- but I immediately realized how awful it was.

The Barclays center is an awful arena, even the Prudential Center is miles ahead. Last year for an Isles game they tried to charge me Import Beer Price for a Brooklyn Lager, I asked just how do you Import Brooklyn Lager to Brooklyn?

Agree with all these comments about Barclays. Once those southern old-timers get a taste of that place, they'll beg to get out of the contract and go back to Greensboro (or wherever) in a flash. Can you picture them climbing the steps of that upper level? Playing in Brooklyn (a great place, btw) is like kissing your sister. And do they think they're walking there from their hotels? No.....its the subway for them. Another eye-opener.

The ACC does not belong in NYC, period end of discussion.

They do not have a team based anywhere near NYC, not even in NJ or Connecticut, where do they come off holding their Tourny in NYC, how dare they?

Just another reason to hate the ACC, and the turncoats who left to join them. BC may be from Boston, but they are no patriot they are more like a Benedict Arnold. Syracuse BB never wanted to leave the BE, until the $$ made them drink the cool aid.

I hate college football now more than ever.

If the ACC really wants to experience Brooklyn and go back to their roots, let them hold their tournament on Lewis Ave, at the gym where the "old" St. John's played when Frank McGuire coached and when he left and started the importation of players from NYC to the South. That would be giving them their just desserts.

*#ck the ACC.

I'm sure their ultimate goal is to take over MSG. Brooklyn seems to be just a temporary stop.

Why don't they play their tournament in Philadelphia, wait their closest team to Philly was Maryland and they left for the Big Ten. Play their Tourney in Boston at least they have one program there, that powerhouse of a team.

They belong in Greensboro or Atlanta, not NYC.

I'm from Brooklyn and frankly growing up there---no one, I mean no one--- cared about that league and their teams other than box scores from NYC players on some of their teams.

I am so happy Chris didn't go to duke, that would have been awful.

When St. John's is back on top and leading the Big East, the idea of the acc holding their tournament in NYC will be blasphemy.

Are there any plans for them to play it in the Garden, I hope that never happens, that would be awful.

BrookJersey Redmen,

Thanks - you started my day off on the right foot.

I'm rooting for Duke, Syracuse and UNC to go down early. Justice for these invaders would be a wake forest versus v tech final.

The ACC is admitting that playing at MSG is the biggest thrill a ball player can achieve. Now SJU has to get that message across to potential recruits.

Agreed but what a nightmare it would be if it is Duke v Syracuse.

While another selling point for a recruit, I think the ACC is just looking at it from a $ perspective than a few more good kids from Northeast looking to play south.

I'll be rooting for a power outage.

I like the idea of a power outage........ PLUS.....

A transit/transportation nigthmare around the Barclay Center, causing delays in the starts of all their games.

And hotel workers strike at the teams' hotels.

Boeheim, Coach K and little Ricky, being bitten by NYC rats.

Bed bugs in their hotels.

Muggings in Bklyn only..

A prostitution scandal Louisville-style.

Little Ricky getting caught doing it on a restaurant table downtown Bklyn,

taxi and über strike in BKLYN only..

Let's make it very hospitable for these louses from the South.

Go back under the Mason-Dixon Line, you hillbillies.

You forgot to mention traders from the north, ie. BC, Cuse, Pitt.
