I still love the class - what a solid group of young men - I expect GG and Nuri to be our spiritual leaders through this challenging period.
AGREED, THE NUMBERS SHOULD HAVE BEEN APPLIED TO NORM,BUT NOW WE HAVE A COACH WITH A GREAT VISION AND THE EXPERT STAFF TO FULFILL THIS MISSION.LET'S HOPE STEVE IS AROUND FOR A LONG TIME,WHICH WOULD MEAN AN NCAA TITLE FOR US
Norm Roberts would not have signed ANY of these players. He may have signed a bunch of players rated between 100-150 at best and we were all going to be happy about that scenario! Do you think he would have had a Ricardo Gathers in the fold who is a top 50 player? This was going to be an up and down year with all freshmen anyway so the sky is falling mindset by some fans is ridiculous! We are left with 3 top 100 players (four if you count Lindsey)! Would we have had FOUR TOP 100 players this year with Norm Roberts as coach?? I am not going to hold my breath for a response!

I agree. I said the spiritual part for obvious reasons, even though it may not be the case. But I have a good shot considering GG's background and Nuri's rough journey here. I already admire them in that regard.I still love the class - what a solid group of young men - I expect GG and Nuri to be our spiritual leaders through this challenging period.
Well, I don't know about the spiritual part, but they're leadership responsibilites were going to be increased anyway, compared to the other first year players because:
1. They're not freshmen
and:
2. They play Center, and point guard, respectivly. The two most important positions on the court, I think we all agree on that.

I guess, with name God's Gift, spirituality sort of comes with the territory.
That is hilarious and ...yeah right Pagan... Sure, and "Pagan" holds the all-time Giants record for games played - lol hmy:I guess, with name God's Gift, spirituality sort of comes with the territory.
This is exactly what happened to the the SF Giants in the early 60s. Before that the club's spiritual leader was Jose Pagan, under whose influence they worshipped rocks and nymphs. But as soon as Jesus Alou joined the team good things started to happen.
F INAL WORD ON STEVE:LET'S HOPE HE IS AROUND FOR A LOOOOONG TIME, HE HAS ACCOMPLISHED MORE THAN NORM HAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LET THE SEASON BEGIN!!! IT CAN'T GET HERE SOON ENOUGH-ENOUGH OF THE POSTING,LET'S PLAY BALL.

So let me gets this straight. . some poster makes an outrageous claim that our Coach wants to cheat and he not warned about anything but...
Some other poster uses CAPS twice and he gets reprimanded and threatened to have his psots deleted..?
To my mind this signals the end of the beginning of Lavin's reign. It simply means that the honeymoon is over because he has shown himself to be human (i.e., subject to errors of judgment) - imagine? He is also smart, resourceful, flexible, dedicated and possessed of inexhaustible energy. He is exactly the type of man we need at the helm.
You're a bigger man for reflecting and admitting you may have been a bit rash. But topics here open up debate, and if done in a civil manner, pose no threat to a secure and confident Coach like our Lavs. After all the BS he unjustifiably, and sometimes justifiably, experienced at UCLA, he can survive the winter just wearing his own thick skin. My favorite part of coach is his classiness. That's why so many people, who include past unreasonable protagonists, speak highly of Lavs. He has the ability to rise above the fray and the insanity that we call major Div 1 athletics, which can resemble the Bronx Zoo at times. And the 2A by the way, is still a dysfunctional, hypocritical, tyrannical, and maniacal organization. They prove it time and time again. Where's Chris Rock? "The hypocrisy is in their bureaucracy"To my mind this signals the end of the beginning of Lavin's reign. That's a fair assesment.
Like I said, a lot of what was written last night by me, was out of frustration. I still belive a lot of what I wrote is possible, but I also believe I am holding tomorrow night's winning mega millions ticket too.
It's just hard having to be patient again, after all we've been through as fans.
You do wonder, if this is going to be the first step in a long road for Steve Lavin's eventual resignation here.
We're obviously a few years (hopefully many) away from any sort of coaching change here, but you do wonder if the word gets out now, that Lavin brings in kids with highly questionable academics, and if the clearinghouse will look at us a lot more closely in the future (because anyone who thinks the clearinghouse plays fair is full of themselves)... Also, if we don't turn it around, does Lavin get frustrated, and go back to broadcasting?
These are all probably questions for another day, but I'd be lying to you if I said that they weren't crossing my mind right now.
Nonsensical Post
