The Airing of the Grievances

Lazy basketball fans trying to point to the Knicks injuries as a “Thibs problem” when injuries like Randle’s/Bogdanovic were just freak plays/slightly dirty by the opponent

Nooo bad take Jack. Thibs is a very good coach but not without his faults.

He trusts who he trusts and that got them the coveted 2 seed but it wasn’t without its sacrifices.

OG doesn’t blow his hammy last week unless he’s absolutely gassed. Randle playing in a 17 point game with 4 minutes to go because Thibs is stubborn and it cost him the season.

Bogdonovic was a freak injury. You could say the same with Mitch. But the 2 biggest injuries at the moment were a direct result of Thibs and how he plays these guys.

Plenty of coaches keep their players in the game in the manner Randle was and the idea that OG blew his hammy because he was gassed is a stretch to say the least; he has been injured multiple times in his career, in fact the only time he has played 70 was his rookie year, and in the last four years has twice played in the 40’s and this year played 50. He has been the definition of injury prone.

Then explain Josh Hart who is an absolute warrior and looked like he was shot in the abdomen 2 minutes into last nights game? Tell me there’s no wear and tear there, I’ll hang up and listen.

Again I’m a fan of Thibs but the guy destroyed Derrick Rose’s career and a few others. If you think 4 out of 8 rotation players going down is an aberration then I just don’t know what to say to you.

Mitch and Anunoby are both notoriously injury prone and Bogie didn't play enough to get worn down. However, I completely agree that Thibs biggest coaching weakness is playing his main guys too much and not giving enough time to his bench players. I totally get your point on the Hart injury.
And like you I am a big Thibs fan, but that is the one thing about his coaching style I disagree with.

Completely agree he’s injury prone…which is why Thibs should’ve played him 36 minutes instead of 46 lol!

He was playing around 35-36 min early in the playoffs but Thibs couldn’t help himself and started playing him 45-46 min. Really begs the question is he really a max player with this injury history?

Guy was playing out of his freaking mind that game he was hurt too. Such a pity.

I thought the same thing as you re: bolded language above.

Because I look at facts, not emotion. Yours is the height of second guessing IMO. Randle dislocated his shoulder, it had nothing to do with minutes played. OG is injury prone and pulled a muscle running down the court. As for Hart, EVERY NBA player has wear and tear at this time of year, every single player. The causal effect of that on the injury is for a doctor to discern, not a fan or sportswriter.
As for Derrick Rose, he played for Thibodeau I believe from 2010-2011 through 2015-2016, five years. The first year he played 81 games, averaging 37.4 minutes. The 2 previous years he played 78 and 81 games averaging, 36.8 and 37 minutes. He then played in 39 games averaging 35.3 minutes, got hurt and played in 10 games the next year, followed by 51 and 66, topping off in the 66 game season at 31.8 minutes per game. The idea that Thibodeau ruined his career is nonsense, it just did not happen.

I’m not second guessing anything. I watch these games and see the attrition where it maybe can be avoided a bit more. Maybe it comes at the sacrifice of getting the 2 seed but we’ll never know.

You’re right though, you have ALL the facts and NO emotions so I’ll defer to you because you’re 100% right. Or you have Asperger’s..
