I think it is more that Albano hasn’t changed.
No way they hire the guy without Pitino being on-board IMO.
Sam Albano is IRRELEVANT and will stoop to any level to act like he is in the know, SMFH. Anyone who thinks this wasn’t Pitino’s decision is as uninformed as Albano. Why any intelligent person would give credence to this BUFFOON is totally beyond my comprehension.

RP could resign and be hired at W Virginia immediately. We ain’t forcing anything on Pitino.
Keeping this simple, Matt was obviously involved with Dingle and Wilcher pleasing Pitino who pushed his hire. Hopefully Matt will deliver and meet RP’s expectations bolstering NIL funding to use it effectively to attract and retain players.
Perhaps he won’t be as free and easy with sharing information as he was in prior stint at SJ, but I am confident Pitino can effectively supervise his staff.

Seriously though, sure all will be fine. Surprised though if this gig for Matt is better than what he had at Octagon if he was involved with good players for next level.

I think living on Long Island will also a big plus for him and his family. He is a New Yorker at heart imo.
I'm really not sure why this topic is taking up 9 pages. Matt a if it's true is not a coach nor being hired to be one. As I read he is involved with NIL and backend stuff. Personally I liked Matt a as he really was the k ly person who worked besides at Jean . As far as Rick not having a say you just be insane. Rick P literally has keys to the kingdom and it's his show. Another guy who knows the nyc area and obviously liked well enough to land a the lead revisiting asst coach at Nebraska. If it was Anderson we would be drooling Matt a is back . I like it and he is no where near the coaching sidelines
Let me go out on a fat limb. Sammy tried to get close to the program under Lavin and was told to take a hike. Surprising to some, Mullin gave Sammy access. IMO Mullin's fate was sealed when Matt gave notice to Mullin and was doing all the recruiting. So. Ax to grind.
