Also, some props to Coach tonight. He made the right moves by assigning Dom to Waldow and recognizing some other adjustments. Is he the best coach in college bb? Maybe not, but he's not bad! Good job tonight, Coach.
I also think this team plays better when they press and go on the fast break. I think if they use this strategy, they will win a lot. We saw it last Sunday with Fordham. In my opinion, this is the game strategy to go with.
Keys to the 2nd half:
-We need to execute on offense.
-We need to limit our turnovers.
-We need to defend the 3pt shot.
-And we need to rebound the ball.
Attendance: 4645. That's a disappointing number.
However, the people who were there (and I'm glad to say I was one of them) were great. That second half, especially when we were coming back, was as loud as I heard CA in a long, long time.

I liked seeing Obepka hitting a couple of mid range jumpers. If he can do that with any type of consistency it would be great for us.
I like seeing them go in and he has a nice stroke at about 8-10' but would much prefer to see those shots right under the hoop going in.
Agree Paul, for some reason CO finishes weak at the rim.
And would someone on the coaching staff please tell him to stop leaning back on his free throws? He had perfected his stroke over the summer and it still looks way better but they ain't going in. He needs to just go through the proper mechanics going up with his weight forward instead of back and his free throws will start going in...
In the old, old days (pre 1985 even), this would have been a classic this-is-how-we-do-it win. Last five minutes at Alumni Hall, the outcome in doubt, and all of a sudden, everyone ups the ante, and we pull one out with superior play.
Last night, the crowd could sense as we pulled even at 41, crawling out of an early 15 point deficit, that our kids had plenty of gas left in the tank, and that St. Mary's was fading. Others have mentioned Dom's job on Waldow, which is appropriate, but really it was everyone not backing down, whether it be Harrison or Jordan, or anyone on the court. At times a worn down Waldow looked like a wounded bear stumbling towards the basket wildly out of control.
As others have mentioned, the crowd was loud. At the start of the game, the student sections had about 15 or so students behind each basket. By end of game, the 164th street side appeared about 60% full - not bad. Long time fans were on the feet urging our guys on. It isn't hard - they are a likeable group.
My son, who has gone to games with me since he was about 4 or 5, and who is now in his freshman year away at college, came home on Thursday and made his season debut. It added to the win, and he reminded me on the way out that his showing up resulted in a win, but my 3 appearances at his school's football games resulted in losses. I smiled and said, "What are you trying to say?" Special night.
