St. John's/Rutgers Game Thread

The typical complete random loss after beating Cincy. Rutgers knows how to shoot FT's therefore they won. I hope Lavin pulls a Rice and throws basketballs at their heads until they learn how to FT. How many gut wrenching easily winnable games is it now that we lost? 9-6...we are close to .500 with a cupcake schedule. I swear we are the worst team when it comes to close games. We won like 1 of 5 close games.

I'm gonna be honest.... Most here might be shocked, considering it's coming from me. I can't really watch this team. I don't like the brand of ball we're currently playing.

Too many heroes on this team.

Jakarr Jakarr Jakarr

How many 3s has he taken the whole season?

You're down 2!!!

SITUATIONAL AWARENESS.

How many timeouts did we have left?

This thread is about to blow up.

none

that was a disappointing ending. we needed a win against rutgers. guess we stole one at natti and gave it back with this

I'm just surprised we went to the three both times
Harrison could have gotten a lot closer when we needed two to win
And Sampson never looked to see if there were any options beyond himself once he had the rebound
But we lost it not on those plays, we lost it many times from the foul line....all game long

Another good rebounding game, Lavin needs to set up some plays for late game situations because we are gonna be in a lot of close ones. We will exceed 15 wins IMO.

Pathetic. I remember everyone panting around yapping about how "anyone can beat anyone in this amazing conference!" Really? We are at the point where losing to anybody is acceptable? Losing to Rutgers at MSG is a pathetic atrocity

Rutgers has our number. We never play well against them. Same with Nova. Who would of thought Rutgers would be 11-4 and we are 9-6. You have to laugh. If you can't handle the little guys, you become a joke fast in the Big East. This team is the antithesis of consistent in terms of who we win against. We are consistent however in our blueprint how we lose games. We come out slow and before we know it we are down 10 pts to ANY team in the country. We make a little run then half closes with the game within 4-5 pts. We talk about how important it is for us to get off to a fast start in the 2nd half, and we immediately allow the other team to go on a run to take the lead. We trade baskets until the final few minutes, miss our FT's and the game is over. This is by far the worst way to lose...on shots that 12 yr olds can make.

i can understand sampson panicking but harrisons 3 was stupid

Cincinnati game was a fluke. This team sucks and will not win 15 games.

Next season will likely be Lavins last

Why do you count them out? Big East anything can happen. Just watch the games.

absolutely Scott
I don't think this poster is serious - talk about overreacting and losing perspective - of course it's disappointing and we had our chances - but give it a break and I'm usually not this forthright in my critique - is not even worth a response - hence might be a facetious post - but does anyone really want a different coach or different set of players???

goodnight and I hope our guys shoot free throws in their collective sleep.

why we lost?
free throws, free throws, free throws - how many we miss about 10!
if we hit them like Rutgers we'd have an almost double digit win.

so frustrating, even Harrison missing

Unlike everybody else, I'm going to stay optimistic, mostly because I think we can beat Georgetown. It is getting to the point where I might have to stop reading this board, because you guys act like our season is over in January. I wanna cheer on until the season ends and some of you make it very hard. everyone take a deep breath and realize we can have so many oppurtunities to make up for this one.
