Students still have to get up in the morning from sleeping in a dorm room, go to the campus mess hall for food and spend time in the classroom and library.
The weather advantage doesn't make anyone smarter or a better basketball player.
In fact, look at those dry hills in the background. They are just waiting for a forest fire to start and the entire student body will have to be housed in Compton!

Pepperdine incidentally has not had to evacuate I believe since 1985.

Besides, it wasn't Doug Christie, it was Julie Christie and she didn't pee in my Cheerios (I never met anymore who admitted to eating that crap).
She peed on my head at Plato's Retreat in 1976 and Warren Beatty shampooed my hair afterwards.
But who am I to make fun of such greedy madness driving university presidents to align their prestigious institutions with other prestigious institutions chasing the almighty dollar in the name of educational enrichment.
I can't wait to attend that cross-
I bet the very first matchup between those long time rivals will be witnessed by then President Chris Christie (no relation to Doug or Julie) but a possible distant relative to Lou Christie who predicted lightning striking college sports and hopefully leading to its ultimate demise as an "amateur sport".

Most people seem to have gotten the fact we weren’t being serious while I know for a fact that I wasn’t the only one that saw your response and thought you got it. But you said you did so be it, moving on to more important or fun things.
One of the biggest fears in college, right there with point shaving.
Hopefully everyone will be talking about the amazing job Coach Pitino is doing at SJU after two weeks of college Bball they way they are about Prime Time Sanders after two Saturdays of college football.
Also, UConn lost to Georgia St last night 35-14. UConn was only 3 point underdogs and is now 0-2. I expected UConn to have a setback season now that teams know they have a pulse. Looking at the rest of their schedule, UConn will likely go 4-8. Last year they were 6-6 before losing their bowl game.
I saw a bunch of UConn fans last month whining about the Big 12 taking Colorado (and then other Pac 12 schools) over UConn, but I'm sure the Big 12 is thrilled with their decision

Conversely, I would like to see the Big East treat UConn like a football school more often.
