Duke, and my alcohol impaired judgement, absolutely killed me last night. Had Duke as the 3rd leg of 2 separate 3 team teasers. All my other teams had already won. When they were up mid way through the 2nd half, I could have cashed out or hedged. Feeling my oats after a few cocktails, I said to myself "F it, I'm riding with Duke". Before I could blink they went from up 8 to down 8 to tie score at the end of regulation. Again I had a chance to hedge and at least break even, but by that point I was way more than a few cocktails deep, so no way I was gonna play to break even. I'd rather lose. So I got my wish.
Love the play by play analysis!!! And unfortunately I know the feeling as well.
Late last night I had utah state first half spread and money line as well as game spread and money line. And had a good amount of money riding. First half boom, up 10 at the half. Decided to ride it out and not play the middle of the road game. In the blink of an eye they were trailing in the second half and didn't even cover the spread for the game. At least with the first half money line win it ended up a little between all the bets but I had my sights on the big prize lol.
Sounds like we were in similar frames of mind last night. Although mine was slightly altered lol. Anyhow my general philosophy has been to "take some profits and move on". Last night was a learning lesson. An expensive one, but hopefully I'll profit more because of it down the road. Do like the Johnnies and the over in a teaser tonight getting an extra 4 points. Will have to place through a friend though.
So ridiculous that you can bet on Seton Hall, which is a stones throw away from NY, but can't bet on Syracuse or Buffalo. If anything, there should be a distance restriction, not a state-wide restriction. Regardless, we couldn't bet on the Johnnies.
Great thought on the miles restriction. That makes much more $en$e
