We shot 44% from the FT line, 25% from 3.

Make 75% of our FTs and 35% of our 3's and the game is actually close.

Federico had no luck from deep tonight and poor young Ellison will have better days.

The good thing about the BE is we only have to play each team twice... :whistle:
 
Is Felix returning? His hustle and heart.is missed. The Rutgers game is lost without his effort. I'm not saying, they win any of these three with him, but I sure would prefer seeing him out there in these games.

The better the comp, the less time you have. Big time division 1 hoops is filled with long and fast athletes. They had a bunch, as will most of the teams we play from now on.
 
Hate to say it, but even factoring his injury into equation, I have my doubts that Ellison is a BE level player. I think he will get buried with infusion of new kids next year. Hope I'm wrong, but I just don't see what he potentially brings to the table.

The beat down Ellison took tonight is going to look tame compared to what Fun is going to do to him in his recap.
 
I'd rather see frikkin Holyfield in there over Ellison. Elijah or Evander. Either of them would be an improvement. How the eff did he get so much burn tonight?
 
Good to see the abuse Ellison took on the board tonight, great kid who has battled injuries for three years. Hard, hard worker who I am sure is proud that all his efforts to get back was at least able to provide some laughs and the opportunity for some great wits to break out their best one liners. Personally I'm not ready to write the kid off and I'm sure the injuries have slowed him down a bit. But he had a really off game and Mullin kept him in way too long and when people have bad games unfortunately they get knocked on the boards and sometimes excessively. My gut tells me it's not so much to do with Ellison as it is frustration over the last 3 games and on game threads during the games people tend to vent their frustration more than they would if they posted 24 hours later including myself

Ellison seems like a good kid and I'm glad he chose us regardless of how I feel sometimes in the heat of a game so I hope he does keep working hard and that it pays dividends down the road for him
 
And I'm sorry for the Mullin lovers and I joked about it last night but just like Desco had a problem with Lavin dressing I have a huge problem with Mullin sitting on the scorers table. It just looks terrible and I don't see any other coaches doing it. At no point should he be sitting on the table and it looks even worse when we get our brains beat in and there are 5 minutes left. If 2 million dollars a year isn't enough to get you to stand and coach then sit in your chair and coach

How is it any different than a kid being on the court and just going through the motions ?
 
Ellison will be fine, he looked decent pre-injury. He's rusty and is almost always the most inexperienced guy in the court. Didn't he have an injury in high school too? Only way to learn is to be on the floor.

After the last 3 games Mullin should have thrown his chair across the floor that way he'd at least have a semi plausible reason for sitting on the scorers table. He's freaking wearing sneakers too sometimes or the dress shoes that are almost like slippers. not the dress shoes I wear to work with the shoe laces that are real uncomfortable until broken in( which I don't have a problem with what shoe he chooses) so it's not like his dress shoes were too uncomfortable or not broken in yet that would bother him from standing too much.:)

I have 2 theories. Mullin is trying to keep the atmosphere loose by doing oddball thinks like sitting on the scorers table or on a chair at end court like he did in Maui. Or he is trying to keep from getting an ulcer watching the team shoot 25% from the line, like they were until late in the game yesterday.
 
Your right about that as I was at the game and it hit me why is he sitting there. If they were practicing fine but not in a game. Someone should speak to him. Plus I hate to have had the seats behind him.

Ellison is stiff arming all his shots. He needs to go back to learn to shoot 101. He was also seen after the game in Johnny rockets laughing with some coeds. To me it was a phil linz moment if you are old enough to remember. Yogi berra where are you? Help!!
Plus they don't charge the basket after they shoot which leaves maybe one player in any position to rebound. We need to rebound better

I want this program to succeed as much as anyone but WTF. I thought he was pissed w the refs and pouting but was it about the kids? He better get use to it cause not even DePaul is a given after they tagged a decent GW team.

Unless Ellison was violating curfew, the only thing we should feel about him laughing with co-eds in Johnny Rockets is jealousy. He is an 18 year old kid enjoying college. Doesn't he have a reputation already as a gym rat? That should be good enough for us. And I remember the harmonica on the bus.
