He said it at the press conference. The question was clearly about Deivon Smith, but Pitino initially referred to “Jaiden.” Given the context and the entirety of the response I assumed that Pitino was referring to Smith but got the names confused.

I think the posts were about how important he is to this team and the importance of getting him back ASAP. If there was any negativity it was directed at the staff for playing him against Seton Hall. None of it was directed at Smith. A warrior like him is always going to want to play. It’s ip to the staff to save the player from himself in a situation like that. But, absolutely no one is down on Smith.

This is good, because I was certain people here would twisting themselves into pretzels over Pitino glowingly start the discussion about how his Kentucky team was the only team to still pound opponents even after getting up by 30. This could only mean he is going back there and leave SJU flat footed.

Pitino once again playing 3-D chess, while the rest of us haven’t even set the checkerboard up yet.
