SJU Portal Targets

Couple things are immediately apparent with Honor Hufff...his shot is absolutely dynamic. Erv Walker territory. And his left hand is completely useless. His defense would be the determining factor here. You'd think that someone his size would be quick as can be.

Don't know if he would come here to play 10-15 minutes, but if Pitino thinks he can buy in on defense it's a no-brainer for us.

Huff is an odd one. Obviously a big time shooter and has played well in his limited games against high level competition. Has played far more 2 than 1 but was the secondary ballhandler which would be where his value would be here. That said, he's been playing 35-40 mins for Chatanooga and would be looking at a steep drop here. Given his lack of size and defense, I don't know where he'd find minutes outside of the 8-10 he'd get at point as he'd be competing with Sellers, Sim, Lefty and Glover for time at the 2.

Would be good backup combo at both spots. Still need a starting Pg.

look at his furman stats

Not saying we’re recruiting a guy to average one point a game, but this recruitment reeks of a Pegues situation. Get a high character guy who can make shots, keep practices competitive, add depth, but probably not in rotation.

With money, winning and MSG buzz, you can get a hometown guy for that.

especially since his mother is from South Korea, not China. Big difference and hope he doesn't read this thread, it ridiculI
I guess you do not frequent flushing. It why i said asian. at least half of flushing is korean with more korean restaurants than i have seen elsewhere in the country. I am sure he can find somewhere he will feel comfortable.

The main priority should be finding a point guard who excels at distribution. Sanon is an incredible player, and having a point guard who can effectively get the ball to him and Zuby would be crucial. Rebounding was a strong suit for Scott and KR, so replicating those numbers is important. If we can boost our offensive capabilities while maintaining a top 20 defense, the possibilities are endless.

He’s an extremely undersized 2. Do see some untapped potential if Rick could unlock that left hand in his personal development workouts. The defense is the bigger question.

Chatter from a few folks I respect that SJU is going to look at Dillon Michell at Cinci now, if he enters portal. A few posters here have also messaged me w same feedback, so I am putting it here. The guy is a great athlete, not a deep shooter, but can rebound. Maybe if the rumor pans out, they would use him across the wing and four spot?

He's also the way to solidify your defense. No matter combination in college basketball than Zuby/Mitchell.

Looks like a good rebounder, defender. Maybe for the Aaron Scott role. Just don’t look at that free throw percentage ..
