I agree and I am concerned. This team is being set up with a lot of mouths to feed. It will need a PG with size who has a solid handle, is a good distributor, and can shoot some. That's a very specific description, there are a limited quantity of those out there, and there is a lot of competition for them.
If we don't get that then it will either be a smaller PG true PG or a not-PG (I am not a "combo guard" guy, you're either a point guard or you aren't) with a backup-level PG. Or ball-handling by committee which means no ball handling.
Also not enthusiastic about "we'll find a Euro," that may be fine as a stretch 4 or a shooter but in most instances probably too steep a learning curve to expect a Euro to contribute Year 1 at that position.
I think it will work out in some way, but definitely concerned. The reason Pitino struck fast in the portal with Sanon and Hopkins was because he didn't want to be in the soup later when it's chaos and programs are reaching or overpaying. May wind up there with PG.
