They play in shoes, just makes more sense to measure them in them.
In fact when weigh offensive linemen they should weigh them in full pads too.

Those who ignore the past are doomed to repeat it.
Every shoe has different sizes. More objective to do measurements without shoes and then assume another inch to inch and a half is added w/ them.

But if one guy is playing in a bigger lift then he is in fact bigger than guy who is not. No?
Sure but what if he changes shoes midway through the year.
And, again, shoes come in different heights and with different heel to toe drop ratios. You have to standardize it somehow.

And the 6'8 was supposedly with him essentially being on a torture rack beforehand and stretching himself moments before being measured. I think you play Luis at center, and Watkins and Scott at the forward spots in a small lineup. Richmond at the 2 affords Pitino that luxury.
That look will effectively be our third center in place of a 4 that can play some 5.
Switch everything, gang-rebound, press, and run. I’m in. 6.2 free throw attempts per game from Watkins is more than our entire backcourt combined last season.
