I think we'll be at 150 by the weekend. Not sure if Kriisa commits by then.
See my other post as well for this. Maybe some wishful thinking on my part for it to happen sooner. Have to stop betting with my heart lol.

Just went back and looked. Last year we didn't get our first portal commit until April 13th. That was Daniss Jenkins. So right about now should be time we start to get a few players on board. I hope lol.

Are foreign players playing in foreign countries and Jucos subject to portal and NIL rules and regulations?

Does anyone know how many entered the portal in total last season, and how many have entered so far this season? It seems like the list will keep growing.

The delta between the Chris Ledlum that actually exists and the Chris Ledlum that exists in the minds of some folks here is fascinating.
I like Chris a lot. Let him crash the boards, boast someone up on D, and take some open mid range jumpers. He’s a good piece but his game is remarkable similar to DAW. I’d be surprised if DAW stats last year and Ledlum this year were that different. Certainly, there is a place for him on a good team. He just won’t be the primary option for a successful big east team.

I agree with you though. Like all fans we get wistful in the off-season and then remarkably critical during the season.

non US citizens attending college are on student visas which prevent the “student athlete” from accepting N$L money for “working” however schools scheme around that in a variety of ways.

I thought there would be more activity (in general not with St. John’s in particular) because of the condensed transfer window.

It will be interesting to see how that affected the timing of commits.

What about non US citizens attending high school or college in foreign countries who want to play basketball in this country?

If you are foreign student attending school in the US, you are here on a student visa which prohibits a player from accepting NIL (and has limitations on making money for working period).

You can make money on merchandising or other deals in your home country which is how collectives are helping out such players.
