I can't understand how anyone actually believes this. Coach Pitino and his staff are offering a scholarship to someone they have not seen play, GTFOH. There is an App or Website where schools can pull up games of every D1 college basketball team. Are y'all blind to the fact that this is what our video coordinator does, prepare film on all of our prospective recruits.

Let's be real, we have Coach Pitino, Coach Masiello, Coach Macon, and Matt A involved in our recruiting efforts and y'all are quoting Trilly, lmao. While I have no doubt that Trilly has many connections, let's not get carried away, Trilly is no Pitino when it comes to evaluating players. Since I have absolutely no control over who will be on our roster next season, I am just going to sit back, relax and let Coach Pitinio and his staff do their jobs.

I think the poster was referring to the fact that while many have seen Krissa play, they just haven’t seen him play much defense. Although, after Coach Pitino harped on the fact that last years team was frustrating from a defense stand point, if through scouting he felt he couldn’t play D, why would he bring him in if he thought he was weak there? Pretty sure, as Panther has said, coach knows what he’s doing.

You guys are over analyzing the Trilly comment. It seems to be totally tongue in cheek (it reads like a knock knock joke). The punch line being, even if you’ve watched this kid play, you haven’t seen him play defense. There is zero shot an anonymous burner account is giving the staff player evaluation.

Too many things we don’t know to judge. The opportunity cost is more than just Amari vs. Cliff. Although, frankly, I think Cliff should be a Repole “whatever it takes” guy.

If our budget is 3.5 mill total, we offered Cliff 800k, but his open market price is now over a million.

If we get Amari instead for 400-600, maybe that 200k savings can go towards another guard or another big man that we couldn’t get before.

Good point. The first item in the NIL yearly budget is used for retaining talent.

Kadary guy & sense he enters portal. Heard an astounding NIL number he threw at SH. Somewhere along the line you have to say no realizing you have full team to pay. To me if he gets extravegant and you are still in it w Cliff, big guys are harder to come by and Cliff could help w rebounding, blocks and triggering fast pace Rick likes. This stuff is loco.
