People peed in their pants when Mike Anderson went 5-13 in his first year, had zero shot at the NCAAs but because they led Creighton (#1 seed in the BET) at halftime so many people convinced themselves his first year was a roaring success.

Pitino overturns the whole roster, goes 11-9 in the BE finishes 5th and makes it to Friday semis for first time in 24 years and some are like, "we can't repeat that mistake..."
I will say CMA’s first team exceeded my expectations. They had a great preseason with wins over WVU and Arizona. Heron was injured and yet the team played better toward the end of the season. I agree we had very little shot at making the tournament and likely would not have beaten Creighton. This is evidenced by the fact that in the subsequent two years we blew big leads against Villanova and Marquette. The Nova game was one of the most excruciating games I’ve ever watched.

Rocket,
I really don't think I expressed doubt of Maher (reread my post to him when I said: "I am not doubting you at all"). I was just wondering about it because I kept hearing it, but was unaware where it came from and was curious to know the backstory. I am sorry if my inquiry here was off putting to you but it was not intended as anything other than trying to glean some specific information.
I was only kidding and forgot to attach emoji 😉😉😉

Golden was just given an extension. What could possibly be going on with him?
Yesterday he was reporting he heard news could drop this week which wild lead to the staffs dismissal. Just 20 minutes ago he said the more he looked the more bogus the report sounded.

They can't cap NIL. What they can do is to stop the fraud involved in it. No more collectives or things like that. Yes, hire an agent. If said agent gets you a TV commercial or print ad and you get paid for it, great. Have a paid autograph session, fantastic. Get paid for your likeness being used in a video game, absolutely. That's what NIL was supposed to be. Not what it has devolved into now where it is just a fraudulent scam where boosters pay players and get nothing outside of basketball performance in return. The pay for the on the court activities was still supposed to be the players scholarship and not NIL.

Sorry, rant over
Yes NIL is supposed to be how you laid it out. But if as part of the NIL deals the players sign with Collectives is requiring them to make appearances at events, interact with people, sign autographs (etc.) then that is fulfilling the requirement.
